The Vitamix A2300 Ascent Series is a well-built blender with ten different speed settings. It performs well with a variety of uses, and can easily crush ice, make smooth almond butter, and blend smoothies. It can also hot blend and it's even Bluetooth-compatible, so you can access lots of presets via its companion app. Unfortunately, this bulky blender needs to be stored on a kitchen counter or in a large cabinet. It also doesn't fully blend leafy greens like kale, resulting in a slightly grainy smoothie. That said, this versatile blender is dishwasher-safe and easy to clean.

Our Verdict

9.2 Multi-Purpose

The Vitamix A2300 is amazing for multi-purpose use. This solid, well-built blender is dishwasher-safe and very easy to clean. It can easily make bar-quality crushed ice and smooth and spreadable almond butter. It can even be used to hot blend, which is convenient. It's also amazing for making smoothies, though leafy greens like kale don't blend all the way, and the final product can be the slightest bit grainy.

Pros
  • Large 64-oz main jar.
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Can be used to hot blend.
  • Lots of presets via companion app.
Cons
  • Slightly grainy smoothie.
9.0 Smoothies (Single Serving)

The Vitamix A2300 is excellent for making smoothies and protein shakes. This well-built, powerful blender can easily blend a smooth-textured smoothie. However, it struggles a little bit with leafy greens like kale, so your smoothie can be the slightest bit grainy. Also, when blended at high speeds, the smoothie can be slightly warm. That said, it's very easy to clean up after blending liquids like smoothies, which is nice.

Pros
  • Large 64-oz main jar.
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
Cons
  • Slightly grainy smoothie.
  • Smoothie jar sold separately.
9.5 Smoothies (Multiple Servings)

Pros
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
Cons
9.4 Ice Crushing

The Vitamix A2300 is amazing for ice crushing. It's very well-built, and using the Frozen Desserts preset, it can easily make bar-quality ice in about a minute.

Pros
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
Cons
9.5 Soups

The Vitamix A2300 is incredible for making soups. It can be used for hot blending, which is great. It can make a smooth smoothie that isn't too foamy. However, it doesn't fully blend leafy grains like kale, so the final product can be the faintest bit grainy. That said, this well-built blender has a large main jar, so you can easily make big batches of soups and sauces, and it's easy to clean.

Pros
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
  • Can be used to hot blend.
Cons
9.1 Professional Use

The Vitamix A2300 is excellent for professional use. This well-built, solid blender has a large 64-ounce main jar that can be used to feed larger groups. It easily makes bar-quality crushed ice and smooth, spreadable almond butter. It's excellent for making smoothies, although the final product may be slightly grainy and a bit warm. It's also very easy to clean, which is convenient.

Pros
  • Large 64-oz main jar.
  • Well-built and dishwasher safe.
Cons
  • 9.2 Multi-Purpose
  • 9.0 Smoothies (Single Serving)

Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Vitamix A2300 comes in four different color variants: Slate, Black, Red, and White. We tested the Black variant, but we expect the other models to perform similarly.

The Vitamix A2300 comes with a 64-ounce main jar. However, there are several other sizes of jars in the Ascent Series that you can purchase separately including a 48-ounce container, a 48-ounce dry grains container for blending flour and other grains, a 20-ounce blending cup starter kit, and an 8-ounce blending bowl starter kit. These accessories are part of the Ascent Series, so they come with Vitamix's Self-Detect technology built into the base. According to the manufacturer, the A2300 can recognize the attachments using this technology and adjust the blend settings depending on the size of the container. We only tested the 64-ounce variant, so it's possible that these attachments will perform differently with this blender.

In Europe, this product is sold as the Vitamix A2300i and it comes with a slightly larger, 2-liter main jar. It may perform differently than our unit due to the difference in size.

Compared To Other Blenders

The Vitamix A2300 is a powerful full-size blender that is dishwasher safe and easy to clean. It's a very versatile blender, and its 64-ounce main jar is large enough to feed the whole family. It's Bluetooth-compatible, and you can choose from lots of different preset modes using its companion app.

Vitamix A2500

The Vitamix A2500 and the Vitamix A2300 are very similarly performing blenders, and depending on your usage, you may prefer one over the other. The A2500 does a better job crushing ice, and it gets snow-quality ice in less than a minute. Both can hot blend, and they're both Bluetooth-compatible and have presets available on their companion app. They both produce smooth smoothies but struggle a bit to fully blend leafy greens, like kale. The A2500 also has three preset modes available on its speed dial, which some users may prefer.

Vitamix A3500

The Vitamix A3500 is a bit better than the Vitamix A2300. It's quieter when it's running and easier to use for some purposes, like making nut butter and ice crushing. It includes automatic blending programs, while the A2300 doesn't offer any unless you connect to a companion app.

Vitamix 7500

The Vitamix A2300 comes with more features than the Vitamix 7500. The A2300 comes with a self-clean program, a timer, and it's dishwasher-safe, unlike the 7500. As it's part of Vitamix's Ascent series, you can purchase different-size jars for the A2300 that use Self-Detect technology to adjust the settings based on size. The A2300 is also Bluetooth-compatible, and its companion app offers lots of different preset modes. The A2300 is better for making almond butter, but the 7500 is better for crushing ice. The 7500 is a solid choice if you're looking for a straightforward blender, but if you want more features, check out the A2300.

Vitamix Explorian E310

The Vitamix A2300 has more extra features than the Vitamix Explorian E310. The A2300 has a programmable timer, a digital blending time indicator, and works with a companion app. It has a bigger capacity, does a better job of crushing ice, and it's a bit quieter when it's running. On the other hand, the Explorian's controls just consist of a speed dial. Its 48-ounce main jar is more suitable for blending small batches of fibrous ingredients when you're making something like a single-serve smoothie.

Vitamix 5200

The Vitamix A2300 has more features than the Vitamix 5200, but overall, both have a very versatile performance. The A2300 is part of Vitamix's Ascent Series, so you can get different-size jars sold separately that use Self-Detect technology to adjust the settings based on their size. It also comes with a Pulse mode, a self-clean program, and a timer, and it's Bluetooth-compatible, so you can access preset modes using a companion app. However, the 5200 does a better job blending fibrous ingredients, so it's better for making smoothies. The 5200 also comes with 'High' and 'Variable' speed settings, unlike the A2300.

Vitamix A3300

The Vitamix A3300 and the Vitamix A2300 are similarly performing blenders, and you may prefer one over the other. The A2300 can make better-textured almond butter and smoothies. However, the A3300 can make better-textured crushed ice in less time. That said, both blenders are very well-built and easy to clean.

Vitamix Professional Series 750

The Vitamix Professional Series 750 is slightly better than the Vitamix A2300. They perform very similarly, but the 750 has a slight edge when it comes to making nut butter. It's also quicker at processing small batches of fibrous ingredients and crushing ice. Its controls include several automatic blending programs. On the other hand, the A2300 doesn't have onboard blending programs, but you can get them via a companion app. It has a few other extra features that the 750 lacks, like a programmable timer. It's also quieter when it's running.

Vitamix 5300

The Vitamix A2300 is a bit better than the Vitamix 5300. The A2300 is a bit quieter and has automatic blending programs and a digital display. Its jar and lid are dishwasher-safe. On the other hand, you may prefer the 5300's simpler controls. Its power cord is also much longer.

Vitamix Venturist V1200

The Vitamix Venturist V1200 is a little better than the Vitamix A2300. The main thing that sets it apart is its two additional jars, a 20-ounce personal jar and an 8-ounce cup for very small batches. Βoth models do a fantastic job with small batches of fibrous ingredients, but the Venturist's personal jar and matching lid make it easy to take a smoothie to go. It's also better-built, a little easier to use for thick recipes like nut butter, and has a programmable timer. That said, the A2300 is quieter.

Blendtec Classic 575

The Vitamix A2300 is better for most purposes than the Blendtec Classic 575. The Vitamix has a much better build quality, a greater number of speed settings, and is also Bluetooth-compatible, which gives you access to a variety of preset modes via a companion app. It makes better-blended smoothies and smoother, more spreadable almond butter. However, the Blendtec makes crushed ice with a better texture in less time. It's also significantly easier to clean.

KitchenAid K400

The Vitamix A2300 is a better blender than the KitchenAid K400. It's a lot more powerful and also feels better built and more premium. Also, the Vitamix makes smoother nut butter and is easier to clean. The Vitamix's main jar is larger and comes with a tamper. On the other hand, while the KitchenAid is a bit inferior in pretty much all categories, it's a lot more affordable than the Vitamix.

Blendtec Designer 725

The Vitamix A2300 is better for most purposes than the Blendtec Designer 725. The Vitamix can hot blend and does a much better job of making smoothies and almond butter. However, the Blendtec makes crushed ice with a better texture. It also comes with a personal jar and a to-go lid in addition to its main pitcher.

Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642

The Vitamix A2300 and the Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ BL642 have different strengths, and you may prefer either, depending on your needs. The Vitamix has a much better build quality and can be used to blend hot ingredients. It also comes with a tamper, has a greater number of speed settings, and takes less time to make smooth almond butter. On the other hand, the Ninja comes with three personal jars with to-go lids in addition to its main jar. It makes much better smoothies and crushed ice with a better texture.

Breville the Fresh & Furious

The Vitamix A2300 is better than the Breville the Fresh & Furious for most purposes. The Vitamix is much sturdier and is significantly better for making crushed ice, smoothies, and almond butter. It can also hot blend, has more speed settings, and works with a companion app that gives you access to a variety of preset modes. On the other hand, the Βreville has onboard preset modes for different recipes, including 'Smoothie' and 'Green Smoothie'. It's also much easier to clean by hand.

Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL770

The Vitamix A2300 is a more versatile blender than the Ninja Mega Kitchen System BL770. It can do hot blending, which isn't recommended for the Ninja blender. The Vitamix is also noticeably better built. On the other hand, if you don't plan on doing hot mixes, the Ninja comes with two personal jugs and more accessories. It also does a better job at crushing ice than the Vitamix.

This blender comes with four sharp, slightly thick blades that aren't meant to be removed from the jar for cleaning. While it can be serviced thanks to its nut assembly, removing the blades voids the warranty and is heavily discouraged by the manufacturer. On the upside, the jar is dishwasher-safe, which helps with cleaning.

The Vitamix A2300 is excellent for making smoothies. It takes around two minutes to make a smooth, well-blended smoothie, though it struggles a bit to blend kale, and the final product is the faintest bit grainy. The drink is also a bit warm due to the friction from running the blender at max speed. If you're looking for a blender that can produce a less grainy smoothie, check out the Vitamix 5200.

The Vitamix A2300 has a 10-setting speed dial and a pulse mode. There's also an on/off toggle on the right side of the blender. While it makes more noise than the Vitamix Explorian E310 at max speed, it's fairly quiet at slower speeds, which is nice. Cleaning

The Vitamix A2300 is very easy to clean. You can clean up most messes like smoothies and almond butter by running the blender with a bit of soap and water and using a sponge on the lid. With stickier messes like almond butter, you may need to use a brush to clean under the blades, but it's still a simple clean-up overall.
