Our Verdict

LG xboom Grab

Turtlebox Ranger

The LG xboom Grab is a better speaker than the Turtlebox Ranger. It's more portable, better built, and more accurate-sounding. Its app offers more versatility, too. The LG has passed seven MIL-STD-810H drop tests, but maybe it depends on whether you're more likely to crush or drop your speaker, because the Turtlebox is crushproof according to the brand. Both speakers have IP67 ratings, though. However, the Turtlebox can reach a higher output volume at max and compresses a bit less in the bass at max volume, which is important if you want music to fill a larger area.
