The Cuisinart AIR-200 is a higher-end 6-qt air fryer. It has some features that aren't standard for all air fryers: its drawer has a window so you can see into the cooking chamber. It has an automatic 'Keep Warm' feature that switches on after a cooking cycle. There's an optional 'Toss' reminder for recipes that require you to flip or shake your food partway through cooking and a preheat mode for its 'Broil' and 'Bake' functions. That said, it's missing a 'Dehydrate' mode, and you can't set the timer for longer than an hour.

Our Verdict

7.3
Air Frying

The Cuisinart AIR-200 is decent for air frying. It doesn't have the best performance since it doesn't cook food that evenly, but it does a satisfactory job with air-fried foods like vegetables or chicken nuggets. It's somewhat slow but has good versatility, as it offers a range of temperatures and fan speeds for different recipes and cooking methods.

Pros
  • Good cooking surface area.
  • Good range of fan speeds and temperature settings.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow for an air fryer.
7.4
Large Batch Cooking

The Cuisinart Basket Air Fryer is decent for large-batch cooking. It's a 6-qt fryer, so it has enough capacity to serve around four people. It has a good amount of surface area for its capacity, so you can arrange more food in a single layer compared to some 6-qt air fryers. It has good versatility, but it doesn't have the best air-frying performance since a pretty big proportion of your food gets undercooked.

Pros
  • Good cooking surface area.
  • Good range of fan speeds and temperature settings.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow for an air fryer.
7.3
Frying Performance

The Cuisinart AIR-200 has a decent air frying performance. It has a good amount of cooking surface area and good temperature stability but has a low maximum fan speed and cooks food slowly compared to some other air fryers. When you make food like potatoes or chicken wings, a little over half comes out well-cooked, crispy, and golden brown, but a pretty significant proportion is undercooked.

Pros
  • Good cooking surface area.
  • Maintains a stable temperature.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow for an air fryer.
  • Somewhat slow maximum fan speed.
7.3
Cooking Speed

The Cuisinart Basket Air Fryer is on the slow side when it comes to cooking speed. It preheats quickly, though.

Pros
  • Preheats quickly.
Cons
  • Somewhat slow for an air fryer.
7.5
Cooking Capacity

The Cuisinart Basket Air Fryer has a good cooking capacity. Its 6-qt capacity is enough to serve about four people. Its basket has a bigger cooking surface area than some 6-qt fryers we've tested, and you have a good amount of room for arranging food in a single layer for the best results.

Pros
  • Good cooking surface area.
Cons

The Cuisinart AIR-200 is somewhat bulky and tall, but it's not particularly big for a 6-qt air fryer.

    Differences Between Sizes And Variants

If you encounter another variant, let us know in the comments, and we'll update our review.

    Popular Air Fryer Comparisons

The Cuisinart AIR-200 is a high-end 6-qt air fryer. Like the Instant Vortex Plus 140-3088-01, its basket has a window so you can watch the cooking process. It performs better than that model, producing more evenly cooked air-fried food. However, if you don't care about the window, some 6-qt air fryers we've tested offer significantly better air frying performance, like the Beautiful 6qt Digital and the 6-qt COSORI TurboBlaze.

If you want to see more options, check out our recommendations for the best air fryers, the best large-capacity air fryers, and the best budget and cheap air fryers.

    thinkkitchen Luminate

The Cuisinart AIR-200 is a better air fryer than the thinkkitchen Luminate. Both options feature a viewing window that allows you to see into the basket and monitor your food as it cooks, but the Cuisinart's basket has a larger capacity and surface area. Combined with a higher maximum fan speed, this allows it to cook a larger portion of your food to a crispy golden brown. It's also more versatile, with a range of cooking presets, like 'Roast,' 'Broil,' and 'Bake.' It cooks faster, too, and maintains a more stable temperature throughout cooking cycles, making it easier to follow recipes.

    Fritaire

The Cuisinart AIR-200 is a better air fryer than the Fritaire. The Cuisinart makes better-quality fried food, leaving more of each batch crispy and golden-brown. While it has a higher minimum temperature and a lower maximum fan speed, the Cuisinart is still more versatile overall. It can get a little hotter than the Fritaire, has lower fan speeds for delicate tasks like baking, and offers more preset cooking modes. The Cuisinart works a lot faster, too, saving you more time than the Fritaire.

    Philips Airfryer 2000 series 4.2L NA220/00

The Cuisinart AIR-200 and Philips Airfryer 2000 Series 4.2L NA220/00 are pretty evenly matched overall, but they have different strengths. The Philips produces better-quality air-fried food, so more of each batch turns out crispy and well-cooked. The Cuisinart, on the other hand, is more versatile, with a wider range of temperatures, fan speeds, and preset cooking modes. Both models feature a viewing window, so you can keep an eye on your food as it cooks. If you plan to mainly cook air fryer classics, like fries, wings, and veggies, the Philips is a better bet, but if you plan to experiment with alternate cooking methods, like roasting or baking, go with the Cuisinart.

This air fryer has good versatility. It has a pretty wide range of temperatures, although its minimum temperature isn't as low as some other options. Its maximum fan speed isn't that fast, which can hurt its ability to quickly cook and crisp food. Its controls also include five presets for specific foods, with a different default temperature and time for each. There's no 'dehydrate' mode, and you can't set the timer for longer than 60 minutes. However, it has some unusual extra features that you might find useful. 'Keep Warm' comes on automatically at the end of a cooking cycle for up to 60 minutes. 'Bake' and 'Broil' include a preheat mode, and there's an optional 'Toss' reminder that you can switch on for a reminder to shake or flip your food partway through cooking.

The Cuisinart Basket Air Fryer makes decent-quality air-fried food. By the time your food is cooked, most is golden brown and crispy, but a relatively large proportion is still undercooked.
