The Mila Air 3 is a high-end air purifier intended for use in medium-sized to large rooms. It has an interchangeable filter system, with different available filters suited for different usages and different standards of filtration. Beyond that, it features an integrated particle sensor, a separate carbon monoxide sensor, and Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to operate the unit remotely.
Our Verdict
The Mila Air 3 is a very good option for pet owners. Even without a filter explicitly targeted at pet owners, it's effective at trapping the smallest airborne particles, like pet dander. The clear air delivery rate (CADR), when used with an H13-grade filter, is very good, especially for a unit this size, and it's well-suited for use in living or dining rooms. At its lowest fan speed, it's quiet enough not to disturb noise-sensitive pets, but it can produce quite a bit of fan noise at higher speeds.
Quiet at lower fan speed settings.
Very good CADR when used with H13 HEPA filter.
Noisy at highest fan speed.
The Mila Air 3 is very well-suited for use in bedrooms. Its compact footprint and low operating noise at its lowest fan speed make it a good option if you have it set up close to your bed. Its clean air delivery rate (CADR) is sufficient for all but the largest of bedrooms, too. Beyond that, it can be configured to run automatically thanks to the onboard particle sensors; just note that it gets much louder at higher fan speeds, to the point that more sensitive sleepers might be woken up.
Quiet at lower fan speed settings.
Very good CADR when used with H13 HEPA filter.
Compact size.
Noisy at highest fan speed.
The Mila Air 3 has a very high particle filtration rate, though this is also contingent on the filter you use. H12 and H13-grade filters without a separate carbon filter allow for a pretty high clean air delivery rate (CADR), especially for such a compact unit, and it won't have any trouble in most dining or living rooms, let alone smaller bedrooms and offices. That said, we'd expect much lower CADR if you use a more restrictive H14-grade filter or a filter that contains a relatively large amount of activated carbon.
Very good CADR when used with H13 HEPA filter.

| The Basic Breather |
|
| The Overreactor |
|
| The Rookie Parent |

Our test unit was optioned with The Big Sneeze filter, and we can expect performance to vary somewhat depending on the installed filter.

Popular Air Purifier Comparisons
The Mila Air 3 is a high-end air purifier. Its compact size and quiet operation at lower fan speeds make it a compelling alternative to larger options like the Levoit Core 600S, though it is worth noting that the latter provides higher CADR. It's somewhat rare amongst other household air purifiers for being available with filters that contain a much higher-than-average quantity of activated carbon, like the Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Mighty or NuWave OxyPure.

Test Results
Our test unit was optioned with 'The Big Sneeze' filter, rated as an H13 HEPA filter with no activated carbon layer. It should be replaced every six to nine months, and replacements can be purchased online.
A number of other filters are available; the full list is available on Mila's website.
At 100% fan speed, the Mila Air 3's particle filtration rate is good. It's well-suited for dining rooms or larger bedrooms, though it'll need to run at max speed to operate effectively in large, open-concept living areas.
This is a reasonably quiet air purifier overall. At its lowest fan speed, it's barely audible and well-suited for areas where you'd prefer some peace and quiet, like a bedroom or office. At its highest fan speed setting, however, it can be quite noisy, not dissimilar to a small cordless vacuum cleaner running nearby, which can be a nuisance when watching TV or listening to music.
