Perfect Privacy is a VPN service founded in 2009. The company doesn't publicly publish its ownership. It has servers in over 20 countries, support for most platforms, unlimited simultaneous connections, and features like obfuscation, multi-hop, and 'NeuroRouting.' The latter is a feature that purportedly dynamically routes your traffic through VPN servers that are closest to your final destination on the internet.
Our Verdict
Perfect Privacy is great for torrenting. It allows you to download P2P files in most countries and doesn't have a data limit. It has outstanding security, keeping your IP address and DNS queries within its tunnel while you use it. Its kill switch also works properly, preventing any of your data from leaking outside the VPN tunnel in the event of a system reboot or a software crash. It has no registration options that preserve your anonymity, as you must provide an email address and password to create an account, but you can pay with Bitcoin. Unfortunately, it doesn't support Wireguard, which is generally faster and better performing than OpenVPN. Also, P2P is blocked on American and Australian servers, so if you're in those countries, you'll have to connect to different servers if you want to download torrents at the cost of speed.
Doesn't leak your IP address or DNS queries.
Proper TLS implementation doesn't leave you vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks.
Functional kill switch.
No Wireguard support.
Torrenting is blocked on US and Australian servers.
Perfect Privacy has excellent security. It doesn't leak your IP address or DNS queries while you're connected to it, and it has proper TLS implementation, protecting you from man-in-the-middle attacks. Also, its kill switch works properly, so your data won't leak outside the VPN tunnel if your internet reconnects or if you restart your system.

Popular VPN Comparisons
Perfect Privacy stacks up well in the VPN market for its good security, but falls behind in other ways. Namely, it does well in its core functionality of keeping your connection encrypted, as it doesn't leak and has a functional kill switch that stops your internet connection if the VPN client crashes or your computer restarts. It also supports port forwarding, multi-hop, and obfuscation, all handy features if you need that functionality.
Perfect Privacy has some significant downsides, namely, its lack of WireGuard support. It's the most modern and lightweight VPN protocol that's significantly faster and more performant than OpenVPN. Additionally, it only has servers in 23 countries, and torrenting is blocked on the American and Australian servers, which can be an inconvenience if you don't want the speed and latency penalty of connecting to a server further away.

Users online have reported that several of this VPN's servers have been offline for long periods without much explanation from Perfect Privacy as to why. After investigating, we found that Perfect Privacy's server status page doesn't match the server status in the Windows client, but the website's server status page seems to be more up to date, because trying servers that were listed as under maintenance on that page didn't work, despite them appearing functional in the client. Most of the servers that aren't down for maintenance still work as intended.
Since the servers that don't work are listed as 'under maintenance' and Perfect Privacy employees have indicated they are working on restoring functionality, we haven't changed the number of destinations. We're continuing to monitor the situation and will update this review with any further developments.
