What's Changed?

Our VPN 0.10.1 test bench is a minor update to our speed test methodology to increase its reliability and accuracy. Instead of running the VPNs on virtual machines in off-site data centers, we've configured a server in our Montreal office to host them. As we did before, we then run upload speed, download speed, and latency tests to speedtest.net servers on the East Coast of the US, West Coast of the US, London, UK, and Sydney, Australia. We run these tests multiple times per day with each VPN and calculate its average performance over the past three months.

Why Are We Making These Changes?

With the server physically located in our office, troubleshooting is considerably easier if anything goes wrong, and we have much more control over how we configure the virtual machines on which the VPNs run. Additionally, we're able to allocate much more internet bandwidth to speed testing than before, so it's more representative if you have a high-speed home internet connection.

We have retested popular models. The test results for the following models have been converted to the new testing methodology. However, the text might be inconsistent with the new results.
