Proton VPN

AirVPN

Proton VPN is better than AirVPN. While both services effectively hide your IP address while in use, AirVPN's kill switch doesn't work properly, allowing your device to send unencrypted data during a restart. Additionally, Proton has servers in far more countries and a much more modern user interface. Lastly, AirVPN hasn't published any third-party audits verifying that it upholds its privacy claims.
