The Altra Torin 9 and Altra Torin 8 are two similar iterations of the same zero-drop daily trainer, but the lower stack and firmer midsole of the Torin 9 create a slightly more grounded ride. Get the Torin 8 if you want more cushioning and comfort for daily training. Go for the Torin 9 if you prefer a firmer, more stable feel with a closer connection to the road.

A nice update, but, really, I would challenge anyone to be able to notice a .3mm or .2 mm disparity on the offset! Maybe, just maybe, the companies are finally addressing the every day runner requests for firmer, lower drop offerings. Be careful what you wish for! But, more and more and more runners seem fed up with max midsole stack height. And white running shoes! Did I mention the preoccupation with white/light color offerings in running shoes?! (“Aren’t these just going to show dirt/get dirty??!!”) Groan!
