Our Verdict

LG C4 OLED

Samsung S85D OLED

The LG C4 OLED is better than the Samsung S85D OLED. The LG supports up to 4k @ 144Hz, so it's better suited for PC gamers looking to get the most out of their graphics cards. The LG supports Dolby Vision and DTS audio formats, so it’' better for those who want to take advantage of streaming services that use Dolby Vision or those who collect physical media. 1. Update: We’ve changed the ‘Bagless’ field from 'No’ to ‘Yes’ to more clearly indicate that this vacuum does not use a dirtbag, though the self-emptying docking station bundled with this product variant does.

Hi, I am a bit confused about the performance of this unit compared to the Miele Duoflex. The Jet 75 seems to have much better suction, but it still falls behind the Duoflex’ score in most areas (especially hard floors which I am mostly focused on). Reading the reviews I’m having a hard time figuring out why. Is it possible to have this elaborated?

    Hello,

Sure, we’d be pleased to elaborate. Take a look at our article about floorheads, which shows that airflow and suction don’t really matter as much as floorhead design. The Samsung Jet 75 has a floorhead which sits very low to the floor. It seals pretty well against the floor for our suction test and scores pretty highly there, but it also means that medium and large debris can’t get to the brushroll and end up getting pushed around rather than picked up. The Miele Duoflex HX1 has a larger floorhead that sits higher off the floor, so it doesn’t do well in our suction test, but it scores higher in hard floor pickup because more medium and large debris pass under the floorhead and get picked up by the brushroll. Seeing results like these, we’re starting to de-emphasize suction and airflow as an indicator of performance and instead focus on real-world tests like our hard floor test.

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

    Thank you.

Thank you that makes a lot of sense. I am still a bit confused however, as when looking at the pictures in each review it looks like both floorheads are about the same distance from the floor. Is there anything in the reviews that I am missing that specifies this more clearly? The reason I am asking is because I am looking at a brand you have not reviewed (as it is European), the Nilfisk S1 Home Plus, and I am trying to compare its strengths to the reviews you have here. But it is difficult to surmise the strength of its floorhead, as it seems to be pretty close to the floor (but again so does the Miele Duoflex HX1, contrary to what you just said. So that is why I am confused) I hope this makes sense.

Hello, It’s hard to tell how high the floorhead is off the floor with our present reviews since these don’t show the floorhead from the side. We might show the floorhead from the side with future reviews in a test bench update. The article I posted gives some examples. It’s not only about how high the floorhead is off the floor but how it allows larger debris in. Some floorheads are angled back, with a taller opening at the front and a smaller opening at the back, like the Samsung Bespoke Jet. The lower back prevents debris from being flung towards your feet. Other floorheads aren’t solid at the front and have channels to allow large debris to pass, like the Miele SEB 300-3 in the article. The best idea we’ve seen is removable front bristles like on the SEBO Premium Parquet Brush in the article - with the bristles removed, there’s lots of clearance for large debris, even if the floorhead is low to the floor to keep suction high and prevent debris from being flung backward.

Of course, this is mostly important if you have a lot of large debris like the cereal we use in these tests. Most of these floorheads work well with medium and fine debris. And if you have lots of carpet, a floorhead low to the floor with lots of suction will be very difficult to move.

With the Nilfisk S1 Home Plus, take a close look at the front of the floorhead. How low is it to the floor? Is it angled backwards? Are there channels in the front? Is it height adjustable? Are the front bristles removable? These things will all help in picking up large debris.
