LG G5 OLED
TCL QM7K
The LG G5 OLED is brighter and more consistent than the TCL QM7K. It edges the TCL in real-scene peak brightness for both SDR and HDR, and its per-pixel dimming gives perfect blacks with no blooming. The LG's much quicker pixel transitions keep fast action sharp for gaming, even though the TCL can accept 1080p @ 288Hz. Four HDMI 2.1 ports on the LG carry 4k @ 165Hz with very low input lag, and LG's upscaling and smoothing make low-quality video look better. The TCL TV's Mini LED backlight stays brighter on full-screen slides, and it supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and DTS passthrough, but it has more blooming, fewer high-bandwidth ports, and slower response time. Unless the price overrides everything, the LG's superior contrast, motion, and processing make it the stronger choice.
