LG C5 OLED
LG B5 OLED
The LG C5 OLED is a noticeable upgrade over the LG B5 OLED. The C5 is far brighter in HDR and SDR, and this in turn also makes it the most colorful of the two TVs. The C5 is capable of gaming at up to 4k @ 144Hz on all of its ports, while the B5 is limited to 120Hz. Plus, the C5 has slightly better image processing.

I purchased the 65-in B5 OLED 6 weeks ago. Really couldn’t be much happier with the television, watching things I’ve watched before is like seeing them again for the first time. Almost! Seeing things I’ve never seen before in the videos! I have this television in the living room with a picture window to the left of it at about a 45° angle and ab6-ft patio door approximately 15 ft to the right. Also at about a 45° angle to the TV. The picture is plenty bright, I know the C5 is brighter but actually I can get things almost too bright on this B5 so I’m not sure why I would want brighter? The upscaling is very good and my streaming services that are only 1080P because of ads etc., and my blu-rays played over a Sony 4K Blu-ray player simply look fantastic! I have a collection of 4K blu-rays as well, which of course look fantastic! I purchased this B5 when it was on sale and at the time it was $1,000 cheaper than the C5, and it’s still $900 cheaper. I think bang for your buck, It’s hard to go wrong with this. And I am a techie who builds computers, and helps others figure out their home electronic systems. I highly recommend this television, for the dollars spent. It’s far superior to any qled or mini LED backlit set that I have seen. Really, the only thing that beats it is the C5, and the G5 panels from LG. The Samsung high-end oleds do have great screens as well, but for me it’s a non-starter not having Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which Samsungs do not. Samsung can be pretty stubborn, it took them many years to finally start selling and manufacturing OLED TVs when it was obvious to most of the rest of us that they were far superior to a qled television! So maybe Samsung should consider adding Dolby Vision now that there’s a version 2, and Dolby Atmos? Lg still sells over half of all the OLEDs manufactured every year!
