Sony X90L/X90CL
Samsung S90D OLED
The Samsung S90D OLED is better than the Sony X90L/X90CL. While the Sony is far brighter in SDR, the Samsung has the edge in HDR; highlights pop way more on the OLED. Of course, the Samsung also has far better contrast and black levels than the Sony due to its OLED panel, and it's also much more colorful in SDR and HDR. The Samsung is the super gaming TV due to its 144Hz support on all four HDMI ports, with nearly instantaneous pixel transitions; the Sony supports only 120Hz on two ports, and is far slower than the Samsung in all transitions. Still, the Sony TV does have better image processing, supports Dolby Vision, and passes through DTS audio formats. This possibly makes it the better pick for some home theater purists, but the Samsung is the superior product for anyone else.
