If you're often on the go or find large over-ear headphones to be too bulky, wireless earbuds are a great, portable alternative. You don't need to spend more than $100 either, as many brands offer economical options that provide great value for money. When choosing the best wireless earbuds for your needs, focus on features you care about, like active noise cancelling for reducing background noise; comfort, stability, and water-resistance rating if you care about sports; and battery life that lasts long enough for your intended use.

Best Earbuds Under $100

The Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless are the best earbuds under $100 we've tested. They're generalist buds and work for a variety of different uses, but they stand out from our remaining picks thanks to their excellent active noise cancelling system (ANC), which competes with that of much more expensive earbuds. They reduce a lot of background noise in the bass and treble frequencies, easily quieting distracting airplane engines and chatty cabin-mates. Their battery lasts for eight hours with ANC enabled, and their comfortable design means you can wear them all day. However, the biggest trade-off is their poor microphone recording quality; if you take a lot of calls for work, consider our dedicated work pick further down.
They're certified for water-resistance to splashes, which can give you peace of mind if you go for a hike or jog here or there, and it starts drizzling (though our dedicated sports pick provides better dust- and water-resistance). The buds have a warm default tuning that nudges up bassy synths a tad without overwhelming vocals and lead instruments in your mixes. The Anker's dedicated app also gives you the option to adjust their sound with presets or a graphic EQ for more fine-tuning.

Most Customizable Wireless Earbuds Under $100

Consider the Nothing Ear (3a) if you're looking for highly customizable earbuds. Very few products at any price point come with a customizable parametric EQ within the companion app, let alone combined with support for high-quality codecs like LDAC, making the Nothing a solid buy under $100. These see-through buds have a bass-heavy tuning out of the box, which injects plenty of boom into the mix, though the mid and treble range are well-aligned with our target. The bass can get overwhelming for some people, but you can easily tune the earbuds using the previously mentioned EQ (or use the simpler EQ presets if you don't have the time to tinker).
While the ANC is a step up from their predecessor, the Nothing Ear (a), it isn't as good at blocking out the rumble of engines as our top pick, the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless, and their continuous battery life of just over six hours is also on the shorter side. Finally, like the Anker, their microphone isn't the best, so it's worth checking out the CMF Buds Pro 2 below if call quality is important to you.

Best Wireless Earbuds For Sports Under $100

Consider the Skullcandy Push Active True Wireless if you're looking for earbuds to take to the gym or field under $100. They offer additional stability hooks and certification for dust protection and water resistance against jets from any direction, features typically found on more expensive earbuds. As a result, you can take them for a run in the rain or some beach volleyball without worries. They're also well-built and have a long continuous battery life of over nine hours with three extra charges in case you're hiking off-grid or just forget to plug them in after tossing them in your gym bag.
These buds have a bass-rich sound to help keep you pumped up during difficult reps. But if you prefer a different sound, they have a companion app with a graphic EQ and presets to help you change their tuning. Unfortunately, they don't have ANC and struggle to block out bass-range noise like car engine rumbles, which can be annoying if you're jogging along a busy street or your go-to gym has terrible music blasting on its sound system.

Best Wireless Earbuds For Work Under $100

The best Bluetooth earbuds under $100 for work we've tested are the CMF Buds Pro 2. In this price point, the CMF offer the best combination of microphone quality and extra features that can contribute to a good work experience, though they don't excel in all performance metrics relevant for work like more expensive buds. They have an integrated mic with much better recording quality than the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless, so your voice sounds clearer over the phone. Plus, the mic also has decent noise-handling performance, so background conversations and clacking keyboards in the office won't drown out your voice. However, their battery life is on the shorter side at 6.8 hours, which isn't enough to last through a full workday.
Out of the box, they have a bass-heavy sound profile that makes genres like techno feel exciting but can also muddy vocals. Still, you can adjust their sound with the in-app graphic EQ and presets. And while they have an ANC system that does an impressive job of dealing with noise, it's not as good as our top pick's.

Best Wireless Earbuds For iPhone Under $100

The Beats Flex Wireless are the best Bluetooth earbuds for iPhone under $100 that we've tested. These colorful neck-cable earbuds feature a proprietary W1 chip that lets you quickly pair them with iOS devices, a feature not offered by other earbuds on the list or at this price point. Their comfortable and stable in-ear fit also makes them suitable for jogs in the park, but they lack the cable-less design of more expensive truly wireless AirPods.
Fans of EDM and hip-hop can especially enjoy their bass-heavy sound profile, which delivers rumble, punch, and boom to mixes. Their mid-range response is fairly flat, so vocals and lead instruments are still present in your mixes. However, their companion app has no sound customization features, so you can't adjust their sound to suit your tastes. On the plus side, they last for roughly 11 hours of continuous playback time and fully charge up in just over an hour. Even though they don't have ANC and struggle to block out bass-range noise like bus engine rumbles, they do a better job of isolating you from ambient chatter.
Notable Mentions
-
Anker Soundcore C30i:
The Anker Soundcore C30i have a less conventional open, cuff-style design that's good for working out or going for a run.
While they're more stable and have a longer battery life than the Skullcandy Push Active True Wireless, their openness means they produce almost no bass and can't isolate you from background noise.

EarFun Air Pro 4+:
The EarFun Air Pro 4+ are a good alternative to the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless if you prefer a stemmed design. Their mic also renders your voice more clearly, but their ANC is a step down from the Anker and they have a much shorter battery life at just 4.75 hours.
