SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite
SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Elite are the more premium sibling of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni. While the two share a core feature set that includes a wireless DAC receiver (with multiple connection options), a swappable battery pack, and a similarly comfortable fit, there are some trade-offs that come with the Omni's lower price point. The build quality is more reliant on plastic, which may be less durable over time, and the ANC system doesn't perform as well across the full range. They also have different sound profiles: the Elite have a response that's more aligned with our target, while the Omni has a V-shaped response that can make sibilants sound harsh at times. That said, both headphones have similarly deep sound customization options, so if you're a fan of tweaking the sound, this might not impact your gaming experience as much.

Hi again Jim25,
I can’t guarantee we’ll update the Elite review right away, but we will have some discussions internally on how we want to approach the Elite and Omni since they’re sibling products. For now we’ll start with retesting the Omni to make sure it aligns with our testing philosophy and user sentiment. But there’s room for better comparability between the two, so your feedback in that regard has been incredibly helpful!
Thanks, Matt
That would be greatly appreciated. If the Omni review gets updated as a result of new findings, I can only assume the review of the Elite would also be updated accordingly? Thank you, Matt!
Hello Jim25,
Thank you for your feedback. We’ll set up a retest to have another look at the Omni and investigate the points you’ve brought up in comparison with the Elite. We’ll update the review where relevant with new results or conclusions, so stay tuned for that.
Cheers, Matt
Hello, here are a few notes I’ve gathered from the comparison of these two headsets.
Comfort
Omni has the lower weight and lower clamping force of the two and so should be higher than the Elite’s rating of 7.5
Controls
To my knowledge the controls are identical on both headsets. Should be the same score but Omni got an 8.7 to the Elite’s 8.6.
Portability
Elite is smaller in every measurement yet received the same portability rating of 5.8. Should be higher for the Elite.
Recording quality and Noise Handling
The general consensus seems to be that the Omni’s microphone is the better sounding of the two headsets. Your results don’t indicate this. I understand this could be subjective but perhaps the Omni’s microphone should be tested again to be sure?
Omni’s microphone was tested with Clearcast AI Noise Cancellation set to 50 (no mention of the on-device microphone Noise Control found in in the microphones settings within Engine or directly on the Gamehub)
Elite was tested with Noise Control feature set to off and not tested with Clearcast AI Noise Cancellation.
Considering both headsets offer the same Clearcast AI Noise Cancellation and Noise Control features, the Noise Handling ratings of 8.6 (Omni) and 8.2 (Elite) are misrepresented.
I believe both headsets should be retested with only Noise Control set to high directly within the Gamehub microphone settings or within Engine inside the GG app. This would represent what console players can expect.
A separate test with only Clearcast AI Noise Cancellation set to 50 and 100 can be performed to give an example of what is possible on PC.
Battery
The Omni (listed at 26.75 hrs) was tested with ANC enabled (level setting not specified) but no mention of Bluetooth.
The Elite (listed at 18.5 hrs) was tested with ANC on high with both non-Bluetooth Gamehub and Bluetooth connections established.
These headsets have identical features and should be tested with identical settings.
Thank you!
