Compared To Other Printers

The Brother MFCL2750DW is one of the best monochrome laser printers in its price range. It stands out for its sturdy build, feature-rich scanner, fast printing speed, and wide connectivity options.

For more options, check out our recommendations for the best all-in-one printers, the best home printers, and the best laser printers.

Brother MFC-L2820DW [DCP-L2640DW, HL-L2480DW]

The Brother MFC-L2820DW and the Brother MFC-L2750DW are very similar overall. While the MFC-L2750DW has a few more features, like automatic duplex scanning and NFC support, you can find variants of the MFC-L2820DW that support them. The only differences are the control panel and page yield; the MFC-L2820DW has a nicer display with fewer physical buttons, while the MFC-L2750DW has a slightly higher page yield.

Brother HL-L2390DW/HL-L2395DW

The Brother MFC-L2750DW and the Brother HL-L2390DW are very similar monochrome laser printers. The MFC-L2750DW has more features, like NFC support and an automatic feeder with duplex scanning. It also yields more pages per cartridge and prints slightly faster.

Brother MFC-L3770CDW Laser

The Brother MFC-L3770CDW and the Brother MFC-L2750DW are all-in-one laser printers with flatbed scanners, automatic document feeders, and faxing capabilities. The L2750DW is a monochrome printer and is much better for black-and-white printing. The L2750DW has a higher black page yield, a much lower cost-per-print, and prints faster. On the other hand, the L3770CDW can print in color.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw and the Brother MFC-L2750DW are both all-in-one laser printers. However, the HP can print in color, while the Brother can only print in black. If you only need to print black-and-white documents, the Brother is a better choice because it yields more pages per cartridge and prints significantly faster. As for the scanner, the HP scans faster, but it needs two passes to scan double-sided sheets, while the Brother can do it in a single pass. The Brother also produces higher-quality scans with more fine details and better color reproduction.

Canon imageCLASS MF445dw

The Canon imageCLASS MF445dw and the Brother MFC-L2750DW have very similar overall performances. The Canon yields more pages per cartridge, so the cartridge doesn't need replacing as often. The Canon can print out single-page documents faster, but the Brother's printing speed is faster. However, while the Brother's scanner can scan at a higher resolution, the Canon has more connectivity options.

HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe

The HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe and the Brother MFC-L2750DW are monochrome laser printers, but the Brother is better overall. The Brother has an automatic document feeder with a duplex scanning feature, a higher flatbed resolution, and prints significantly faster. Also, it has a slightly higher page yield with a marginally lower cost-per-print.

Lexmark B2236dw

The Brother MFC-L2750DW is a better monochrome printer for small or home offices than the Lexmark B2236dw. Although it's significantly bigger, the Brother has both a sheetfed and flatbed scanner, which is handy for processing many documents. Its cost-per-print is slightly more affordable, and its toner cartridge can yield more pages before needing to be replaced. However, the Lexmark printer has a quicker print time for single-page documents.

HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2604sdw

The Brother MFC-L2750DW and HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2604sdw have their advantages, with one possibly suiting you better than the other, depending on your needs. The Brother is the slightly better-rounded option, with a fuller-featured scanner that produces sharper copies, faster printing speed, and a sturdier build. On the other hand, the HP printer's toner tank design lowers the cost per print thanks to its greater page yield.

Pantum P3012DW

The Brother MFC-L2750DW and the Pantum P3012DW are both monochrome laser printers; however, the Brother is an all-in-one with a feature-rich scanner, while the Pantum is a print-only model. Due to its array of scanning tools, the Brother is better for small or home offices. You can easily digitize various media types using its high-resolution flatbed scanner, while its single-pass duplex ADF makes quick work of double-sided, multi-page documents. Additionally, the Brother warms up and prints faster, its cost-per-print is slightly cheaper, and its mobile app is much easier to use than the Pantum's.

Xerox VersaLink C500/DN

The Brother MFC-L2750DW and the Xerox VersaLink C500/DN are both laser printers; however, the Brother is a monochrome all-in-one printer, while the Xerox is a color print-only model. The Brother is a better choice if you only need to print in black and need wireless connection options. On the other hand, the Xerox yields significantly more black pages than the Brother, and it also has many additional parts you can buy to better suit your office's needs.

HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w

The Brother MFC-L2750DW and the HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w are both monochrome laser printers. However, the Brother uses a traditional toner cartridge system, while the HP uses a tank that you refill with toner bottles. The HP prints thousands of more pages, so you won't need to refill the tank often. Also, since its toner bottle cost is cheaper than the Brother's cartridge cost, you save more money in the long run. On the other hand, the Brother has a much faster printing speed and supports automatic duplex printing. Also, it has an ADF, so it's a better option if you need to scan many large documents often.

Type All in One

The Brother MFC-L2750DW's build quality is excellent. It's entirely plastic and feels very sturdy overall. You can easily access paper jams through the back panel and the toner cartridge through the front panel. Lifting the scan bed gives better access to the output tray, and the scan bed stays open on its own, so you don't have to hold it. Unfortunately, the power cord isn't removable, making it impossible to replace if damaged.

The Brother MFC-L2750DW is a laser printer, so it doesn't have the same risk of printhead clogging as an inkjet printer does. You'll have to replace the drum unit eventually, but Brother claims it'll last about 12,000 pages. The toner cartridge is easy to install; you simply need to open the front panel. You can access the output tray sheet rollers from the cartridge bay and the input tray rollers by removing the input tray cassette entirely. Unfortunately, the back panel only opens to a maximum of 45°, so you might struggle to get your hand into the opening if you have large hands.

The Brother MFC-L2750DW has a decent display. It's a fairly large touchscreen, but it's hard to see at an angle, and it doesn't allow for any tilt or swivel adjustment. The settings menu is easy to navigate; you just need to press hard because the screen isn't very sensitive.

The Brother MFC-L2730DW, MFC-L2750DWXL, and MFC-L2759DW variants have the same touch-sensitive display. However, the Brother MFC-L2690, MFC-L2690DWXL, MFC-L2710DW, and MFC-L2717DW have a 2-line monochrome, non-touch display.

The toner cartridge yields a large number of prints, so you won't need to replace it often unless you print a lot. The posted yield represents a regular TN730 cartridge's yield; the starter cartridge that comes with the printer typically yields fewer prints. You can increase the yield further with high-yield (TN760) and super high-yield (TN770) cartridges. The other variants use the same toner cartridge and yield a similar number of prints. However, if you want a laser printer with an even higher page yield, consider the HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2604sdw, which has a refillable toner reservoir instead of using replaceable cartridges, resulting in an estimated max page yield more than twice that of the Brother.

The Brother MFC-L2690DWXL, MFC-L2717DW, MFC-L2750DWXL, and MFC-L2759DW are variants that include one or more high-yield cartridges in the box instead of a starter toner cartridge. You can see the details in the variants section.

This printer has superb scanning features. It has an automatic document feeder capable of performing duplex scanning in a single pass, saving a lot of time when you need to process long, double-sided documents. When using the OCR (optical character recognition) feature, selecting the 'to OCR' option from the printer saves the scan as a TXT file by default. The TXT file doesn't contain any images or formatting. You can change the settings so that it saves the scan as an HTML or RFT file instead. When scanning from a computer, you have the option to save the file as a searchable PDF. The character recognition works well; mistakes are mostly due to special characters.

The Brother MFC-L2750DW's toner cartridge yields a lot of prints and is relatively cheap, making the cost-per-print exceptionally low. However, you need to replace the drum unit separately, which is an added expense not factored into the cost. The drum is usually good for about 12,000 prints, so you won't need to do it too often. There are advantages to having the drum as a separate unit; it's more eco-friendly since you won't replace it as often as the cartridge, and you won't have to throw away a cartridge with toner left if the drum gets damaged. If you prefer a laser printer with the drum unit built into the cartridge, check out the Canon imageCLASS MF445dw.
