Hisense U8N
LG G5 OLED
The Hisense U8N is brighter in most real scenes than the LG G5 OLED, but the LG delivers deeper contrast and stronger gaming performance. The Hisense TV's Mini LED backlight punches harder in SDR and HDR highlights and full-screen images, making it a better pick for sun-lit rooms, and it supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and DTS audio passthrough. The LG fights back with perfect blacks, no blooming, and noticeably quicker pixel transitions, plus four HDMI 2.1 ports that handle 4k @ 165Hz with lower input lag, so motion in competitive games looks cleaner despite the U8N's 1080p @ 240Hz option. LG's upscaling and low-quality content smoothing are also more refined. Given its much lower price, the Hisense is compelling for bright spaces, but image purists and serious gamers will favor the LG.
