Brother MFC-L8930CDW
The Brother MFC-L8905CDW and its successor, the Brother MFC-L8930CDW, have very similar performance overall. The newer model includes slight improvements to print speed and page yields, but overall, these two printers produce exceptionally detailed documents at a very quick pace. Their scanners are also very feature-rich and quick, which will keep even the busiest offices running smoothly.

Hi! So I reached out to my testers, and we looked into it. We noticed that a new software update was out for the printer, so after updating we gave it another print run with the same recommended settings we previously used. The diagonal pattern is now gone both in greyscale and in color prints. We’ll be updating the website with the new images shortly.
Yes, I am asking about the diagonal lines on the 8930 that appear in your grayscale and color prints. I did not expect these to be present on a printer at this level, especially as the previous generation or lower-level printers (like MFC-L3780CDW) did not show this pattern in your tests. I am curious if there is a mistake in how the print settings were chosen, the way the prints were scanned, or it really is like that.
Hi there. We test B&W in the printer’s grayscale setting, or any similar variant the company offers. As for Color, we opt for High, Color, or Photo settings, again depending on what is being offered. As for the pattern, I see one, but I also still see a different pattern on the MFC-L8905CDW; they certainly look distinctive. There are slight diagonal lines on the 8930 that aren’t on the 8905; is that the pattern you’re noticing?
Do the pictures of printed documents (B&W and Color) produced by MFC-L8930CDW show the result of printing with regular settings?
All grey blocks (e.g., columns in the charts, title bar) have a weird pattern that I did not see in reviews for other printers, including the one for the former model (MFC-L8905CDW).
