LG C5 OLED
Samsung S90F OLED
The LG C5 OLED and the Samsung S90F OLED trade blows. They're about equally as bright in most HDR content, although the S90F is a bit brighter in Game Mode. In SDR, however, the C5 is way brighter. The S90F does handle direct reflections better, but the C5's black levels barely raise in bright environments, while the S90F's blacks become charcoal gray in the same context. The S90F's QD-OLED panel is far more colorful than the C5's WOLED panel, which is expected. They're about equally as good for gaming, although the C5's Dolby Vision support does give it the slight edge for Xbox gamers.

You really can’t go wrong with either of these TVs, they’re both fantastic choices for your usage. If I had to pick one, I’d lean slightly more towards the C5, since it does a better job cleaning up compression artifacts from streaming services. Since you’re using an Apple TV this doesn’t matter as much, as it’ll do a lot of that before the image even gets sent to the TV, but the combination of both devices will deliver the better streaming experience.
I am planning to buy a 65 Inch TV for My Bedroom, Please help me choose based on the points below 1) I have total control over the light and I will be watching it in a semi-dark room (12 feet x 12 feet) from a distance of 7 Feet
2) I will not be playing any games on the TV 3) I will be watching Netflix & Prime Video and YouTube equally, 90% of the time (No Satellite or cable TV) 4) I will be using an Apple TV 4k and Samsung Soundbar Q990F Via HDMI earc Which TV among the (S90F or LG C5) should I choose, or is there a different Model besides these you would recommend in the same price range. Thank You!
Similar issue here. Instead, I am deciding if I need dolby vision or can go without it.
We have run a few tests with this, and it’s really impossible to give a definitive answer, it depends on the content creator and how they mastered it. Dolby Vision offers more controls for content creators to fine tune the final picture, but not everyone bothers doing that, so in many cases there’s very little difference between the DV and HDR10+ versions.
Hello: Looking at a 77" C5 vs S90F with a specific question: Dolby Vision!! If I watch a show in DV on say Apple TV or Netflix or a 4K Disc how will it look on the Sami in HDR10+?? vs the LG in Dolby Vision. Have you ever lined them up and run a test?? I have tried far and wide for an answer, can’t seem to get one.. Help please!! BTW, 0 gaming for me, 0.0. Thank you!!
Unfortunately, no, we haven’t reviewed the WOLED versions of these TVs. There are no 83-inch QD-OLED panels, so we expect the S90F to perform much closer to the C5 in that size.
Is there any chance you have compared these two TVs in the 83 inch versions specifically. Since the S90F uses WOLED instead of the QD-OLED. The QD was a selling point for the better color, but if the 83 inch isn’t using it, all of the reviews I can find for it are pretty much useless. Any help would be really appreciated.
