LG G4 OLED
LG G5 OLED
The LG G5 OLED is better than the LG G4 OLED due to three key differences. The G5 is brighter overall, so it's better suited for bright rooms and delivers a more impactful HDR experience. The G5 also displays brighter and more vibrant colors, giving it punchier colors overall. Finally, the G5 supports 165Hz, whereas the G4 is limited to 144Hz, making it slightly better for PC gamers with powerful rigs.

i confirm what your test shows regarding the motion blur. In real use, the G5 clearly shows more persistence and less clarity than the G4. it would be helpful to mention in the review that the higher cumulative deviation (CAD) is not just a lab number, it’s very noticeable to the human eye, even more so than on the G4. thanks for the detailed testing as always.I ’ll be returning the G5 and keeping my G4, only because the motion blur is too distracting during gaming. thanks for the detailed testing as always.
Hey ratings; I know it is not possible to know LG’s plans for firmware updates. I am wondering if the HDR10 issue can be fixed with a firmware update or is the HDR10 issue a problem with the panel hardware it has and is not possible to be fixed at all? Curious to hear your thoughts. I saw the G4 and loved how the image looked. Not sure if it would be better to get the G4 or wait to see if the G5 can be fixed, as the G5 has higher ratings from your test.
