Our Verdict

Samsung Q70A

TCL R745 QLED

The TCL R745 QLED is better overall than the Samsung Q70A. The TCL gets much brighter, making highlights pop in HDR, and it does a better job at fighting glare. The TCL has a local dimming feature, which the Samsung doesn't have, but the local dimming makes the picture quality worse because there's a ton of blooming. The Samsung has more gaming features because it has lower input lag and an HDMI 2.1 input, which the TCL doesn't have, meaning that you can play 4k games up to 120 fps on the Samsung.
