Our Verdict

Samsung S90D OLED

LG C5 OLED

The LG C5 OLED and the Samsung S90D OLED trade blows. The LG is brighter in SDR and does a better overall job handling reflections, making it look better in a bright room. The LG also has better image processing, so it's more versatile with different levels of content. On the other hand, the Samsung has the advantage when it comes to colors thanks to its QD-OLED panel.

These photos aren’t meant for that level of comparison. We have to manually adjust the focus when taking them to reduce the amount of moire in the image, which means each one is different. The blurriness you’re seeing isn’t there in person.

    Thanks for the explanation.

Hi, why does the s90d have a more “blurry” static picture compared to the LG S4 and C5? I compared the brightness photos in this review and noticed that the s90d has a more “blurry” picture. This shows up much better if you zoom in on the photo and compare, of course I understand that I will not watch a movie or play video games while sitting close, but I would like to know the reason for this phenomenon, tell me if i’m wrong. (S95D don’t have this)

Hi! So wich is the best? S90d or c5?

Hello! The LG C5 and Samsung S90D are overall very similar so it is difficult to say that one is better than the other. The LG C5 can differentiate itself with its brightness in SDR, making it a better choice for a bright room. It also has a better image processing so low quality content will look better on it. However, the Samsung S90D has an impressive color volume which means it can display a broader range of colors than the LG C5. So both have different advantages depending on what you are looking for. How do you plan on using your TV?

“The LG also has better image processing and supports 165Hz” ?

Thanks for pointing that out! It was an error and has been fixed.
