TCL QM7L
TCL QM7L Pro
The TCL QM7L and the TCL QM7L Pro are very similar overall. The QM7L Pro has four HDMI 2.1 ports, giving you a bit more versatility if you own several modern gaming consoles. The QM7L Pro also does a better job upscaling and smoothing low-quality content and is more accurate in HDR due to its better image processing. On the other hand, the QM7L is brighter in the Game Master HDR picture mode, has better reflection handling, has the edge in contrast, and is more accurate in SDR. The better choice really comes down to what you value the most.

Wow! I was wondering, those Direct reflection numbers on the QM7L were so much better than the others! Thanks so much for going back and checking Adam!
Actually, sorry, I went back and looked again and based on minor differences in the subpixel layout and very different viewing angle behavior, these actually aren’t the same panel.
So how much of the non-processing delta would you say is mainly panel-variance between review units?
Correction: No, the Pro version appears to use a slightly different panel. The subpixel structure is slightly different, and the viewing angle behaves differently. You can see that green shifts at the same time as blue on the QM7L, but remains close to the threshold on the Pro version. This is not within panel variance and indicates a completely different panel. The QM7L, QM7L Pro, and QM8L all use different panels.
So the Pro version is the same QM7L panel, but with the upgraded QM8L processor and MediaTek Pentonic 800 chipset?
Wow.. this comparison makes the QM7L pro look like a specs list of contradictions! It has the better processor and color and hdmi but less contrast, worse reflection, too much red with less blue and green vs the reg QM7L, yet somehow has better upscaling etc. yet somehow with the better processor it has worse transition artifacts and response time?? I shoulda known the pro version was too good to be true. Plus what’s going on with the reddish tint? I wonder if maybe the big issues can be fixed with a firmware update? Thanks for doing this!
