Regarding the button actuation and operating forces; I reached out to Corsair and they said that “there are no differences between the membrane switches in either the K55 RGB PRO, or K55 RGB PRO XT, and they should have the same spec. They also noted that "Any potential variation in performance could be due to the age and usage of the switches, as over time, the switch mechanism and membrane will naturally wear down, which can lower the amount of force necessary to actuate a key.” So I guess it is a production thing rather than a spec difference indeed.

Thanks for reaching out. We definitely agree that it’s a production thing and not an intentional spec difference on Corsair’s part.

In our experience, many manufacturers will typically cite a +/-5gf of tolerance variation for most switch types.

In this case, the difference in operating and actuation forces we measured on the membrane switches between the Corsair K55 RGB PRO and the Corsair K55 RGB PRO XT are certainly at the higher end of that range but certainly not outside the realm of what we’re used to seeing.
