The Novaform DreamAway is a Medium-Firm all-foam mattress with a simple design. It contains three layers of foam: a contouring layer of memory foam for comfort, a polyfoam transition layer, and a polyfoam support layer. Each layer of foam is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning that they're lower in indoor air pollutants and heavy metals. The cover is made from polyester and nylon, which the manufacturer says are infused with antimicrobial protection. Unlike most mattresses, this model comes in only two sizes: Twin and Full.

7.9Heavy Weight
The Novaform DreamAway mattress is best suited to heavier side sleepers. If you fall into this weight category, you'll compress the mattress enough for proper pressure relief in the arm and shoulder when side sleeping. Average-weight side sleepers also get decent pressure relief from this mattress, though if this describes you, you may notice some discomfort on your shoulder. It's not a good choice for lighter side sleepers, who won't compress the mattress enough for comfort, leading to painful pressure at the shoulders and hips. That said, this mattress is very enveloping. You sink a little way into the surface, and it contours your body closely, which helps cushion the joints of sleepers in any weight category.
Offers very good pressure relief for heavier-weight people.
Memory foam increases sinking and contouring, which can help cushion joints.
Doesn't relieve enough pressure for lighter people.
Doesn't quite relieve enough pressure for average-weight people.

The Novaform DreamAway mattress is a decent option for back sleepers. It's most supportive for lighter back sleepers, since they don't compress the mattress as much. If that describes you, this mattress should keep your hips lifted and your back in a straight line. It offers less impressive but still decent support for average back sleepers, so if you fall into this category, you may notice your hips sinking farther into the mattress, which can misalign your spine. Heavier-weight sleepers will sink even farther, so people in this category may want a more supportive option for back sleeping.
Great support for lighter-weight people.
Decent support for average-weight people.
Not quite supportive enough for heavier-weight back sleepers.

The Novaform DreamAway mattress is satisfactory for stomach sleeping. It's best suited to lighter-weight stomach sleepers, who will get the most support from this mattress. If you fall into this category, this mattress will keep your hips lifted, preventing your back from arching when you sleep on your stomach. Average-weight and heavier sleepers get decent support from this mattress for stomach sleeping. If either of those categories describes you, you may find it mostly comfortable for stomach sleeping, but also notice that your hips sink a little too far into the mattress.
Great support for lighter-weight people.
Decent support for average-weight people.
Decent support for heavier-weight people.
The Novaform DreamAway mattress offers disappointing durability. Only the polyfoam support layer is made of good-quality foam, while the transition layer and memory foam comfort layer are both made of lower-quality foam. As a result, this mattress will show signs of wear and tear, like sagging and permanent indentations, faster than options made with higher-quality foam.
Contains mostly low-quality foam that's prone to sagging.
The Novaform DreamAway mattress offers reasonable pressure relief overall, but its performance varies depending on your weight. Heavier people sink far enough into the mattress for very good pressure relief. This makes it ideal for heavier side sleepers, as it relieves pressure on the shoulders, arms, and hips in this position. Its pressure-relief performance is just alright for average-weight sleepers, so you may notice some discomfort, particularly at the shoulders, if you fall into this category. For lighter-weight sleepers, it provides poor pressure relief because they don't compress the mattress much, resulting in more pressure concentrated in a small area.
Offers very good pressure relief for heavier-weight people.
Memory foam increases sinking and contouring, which can help cushion joints.
Doesn't relieve enough pressure for lighter people.
Doesn't quite relieve enough pressure for average-weight people.
The Novaform DreamAway mattress provides decent support. This Medium-Firm mattress is most supportive for lighter people, who compress the mattress the least. If you fall into this weight category, this mattress will keep your hips lifted and your spine in a straight line when you're sleeping on your back or stomach. Its support performance drops for average and heavier-weight sleepers, though it's still decent. If you fall into the average-weight category, your hips will sink further into the mattress. This effect is even more pronounced for heavier-weight sleepers, so if you fall into this category and sleep exclusively on your back or stomach, you may need something more supportive to keep your hips lifted and your spine aligned.
Great support for lighter-weight people.
Decent support for average-weight people.
Decent support for heavier-weight people.
The Novaform DreamAway mattress isn't available in a Queen-size variant, so we weren't able to gather consistent cooling results.
The Novaform DreamAway mattress offers great motion dissipation. While you feel movement nearby, it doesn't travel throughout the entire mattress or last long. So, when your pet hops onto the foot of the bed, you feel it around your feet, but not in the center of the mattress, and it doesn't last long enough to disturb you. That said, this mattress doesn't offer a Queen-size variant, and the smaller size means any movement will be closer to you, making it more noticeable.
Movement isn't very noticeable across the mattress.
The Novaform DreamAway mattress responds to movement reasonably quickly, but it's not bouncy. The memory foam comfort layer has a sluggish feel, and while the layers below offer more resilience, the mattress feels difficult to move around on overall.
Lacks bounciness, which can lead to a sluggish feeling.
Responsiveness is just adequate, making it harder to change sleeping positions.

Popular Mattress Comparisons
The Novaform DreamAway 8 Gel Memory Foam Mattress is an affordable all-foam mattress available in Twin and Full sizes from Costco U.S. Like other inexpensive mattresses, it has a simple design. With a layer of memory foam on top of transition and support layers of polyfoam, it has the same basic setup as the Zinus Original Green Tea 2025, for example. As a result, its performance is very similar to the Zinus's. They both offer decent support and minimal responsiveness, though the Zinus provides less pressure relief and is a little more durable.
While all-foam mattresses tend to be quite enveloping and not very bouncy, this Medium-Firm mattress exhibits these qualities even more so than most. For example, you sink more deeply into this mattress than the Casper Cooling Select, and it also provides closer contouring. And while the Novosbed, another foam mattress, is not considered a bouncy option, the Novaform DreamAway is significantly less bouncy. Consequently, this mattress is a good choice for sleepers who like the slow-moving, hugging feeling of memory foam.

The Casper Cooling Select is a better mattress than the Novaform DreamAway. It's more versatile for a range of body types and sleeping positions, making it the safer choice for combination sleepers, couples, and guest rooms. The Casper is also more responsive, which makes it easier to move around. At the same time, it does a better job isolating motion, so if you sleep with a partner who tosses and turns, their movements are less likely to wake you.
The Novaform DreamAway is a better mattress than the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid (Canadian Version), though the DreamCloud also has strengths to consider. The Novaform offers better support and pressure relief, making it a more comfortable mattress for most sleepers. However, the DreamCloud offers better motion dissipation and especially responsiveness, so it's easier to move around on and helps you sleep more peacefully with a partner who tosses and turns.
The Novaform Serafina Pearl is a better mattress than the Novaform DreamAway, especially for side sleepers. While both mattresses provide decent support, the Serafina Pearl provides better pressure relief, which helps cushion the arm and shoulder when side sleeping. It's also more responsive, making it easier to move around on. The Serafina Pearl is more durable, too, so it’ll resist forming permanent indentations for longer than the DreamAway.
The Helix Midnight Luxe 2025 is a better mattress than the Novaform DreamAway, particularly for side sleepers. It provides more pressure relief for sleepers in any weight category, resulting in less pressure on the arm and shoulder when side sleeping. It's also bouncier and more responsive, which makes it easier to move around on. While the Helix is more expensive, it's also more durable, so it'll resist sagging and forming indentations for longer.
Test Results
This mattress is just 7.8" (19.9 cm) tall, so you can easily use standard fitted sheets.
This mattress is Medium-Firm. It offers at least decent support for people in any weight category, though you get more robust support the lighter you are. Its body conformity, on the other hand, varies much more depending on your weight. Heavier people compress the mattress enough to get very good pressure relief, while lighter people, and especially side sleepers in that category, will find it much too firm. Average-weight people fall somewhere in the middle and can expect to get alright pressure relief.
You get varying levels of body conformity from this mattress, depending on your weight. It provides the most pressure relief for heavier people who sink deeply into the surface. Average-weight people sink far enough for adequate pressure relief, so it's a decent choice for side sleepers in this category. However, lighter people don't compress the mattress enough to relieve pressure on the arm and shoulder when side sleeping, which can lead to discomfort in these areas.
This mattress provides decent support overall, though you'll find it a little better or worse depending on your weight. It's very supportive for lighter people, making it a good choice for back and stomach sleepers in this category. Average-weight and especially heavier people will find it less supportive, though it's still a decent choice for heavier back and stomach sleepers.
This isn't a bouncy option, which can make it feel harder to change sleeping positions and leave you feeling stuck in place.
This mattress is very enveloping. You sink into the comfort layer, and, depending on your weight, a little bit into the transition layer as well. It contours your body very closely, creating a cozy, hugging feeling.
This mattress provides adequate responsiveness. The memory foam comfort layer responds fairly slowly, which is typical for the material. This provides a hugging feeling but also makes it feel more difficult to move around.
This mattress offers great motion isolation, though, as a smaller (Full-size) mattress, you'll naturally feel more movement on it than on a larger mattress. You feel movement nearby, but it doesn't last long or travel much throughout the mattress. For example, you feel it in the lumbar area when your sleeping partner rolls over, but the motion doesn't reach your head, and it fades fast.
Although there's nothing extra built into the sides of this mattress, it offers great edge support. While sitting on the edge makes a bit of a ramp, which can create a slight slipping feeling, you don't sink very far, so it's easy to get in or out of bed, and you can sleep near the edges without worrying that you'll actually slide off.
We tested a Full-size variant of this mattress, since it doesn't come in Queen, which we typically test in order to keep results comparable. As a result, we weren't able to get consistent results for this test.
The cover is made from polyester and nylon. It's removable, but not machine-washable.
There's no additional component reinforcing the mattress's sides, but its edge support is still great.
With just three layers of foam, this mattress has a simple construction. According to the manufacturer, the comfort layer is made of gel memory foam, though it functions similarly to standard memory foam. You sink into this layer, and it contours you closely. Below the comfort layer are two layers of polyfoam, the transition layer and support layer, which provide support for the heavier parts of your body.
This isn't a durable option. Only the polyfoam support layer is dense enough to reach the standard for good-quality foam, while the transition and comfort layers are made of low-quality polyfoam and memory foam. As a result, this mattress will start to sag and develop indents faster than those made with higher-quality foam.
This mattress is comprised of almost 8" (19.9 cm) of foam. The memory foam comfort layer is 1.8" (4.5 cm) thick, and both lighter and heavier people will fully compress it. The polyfoam transition layer is just slightly thicker than the comfort layer at 1.9" (4.7 cm), and the polyfoam support layer is thickest overall at 4.1" (10.5 cm), providing support and preventing you from sinking through the mattress.
The layers of this mattress get firmer towards the bottom. The comfort layer is made of very plush memory foam, which allows you to sink into the mattress a little and offers contouring to cushion your joints. The polyfoam transition layer is firmer yet still fairly soft, so you don't notice the shift to the support layer, which is the firmest overall. This bottom layer of polyfoam provides support, though its effectiveness varies depending on your body weight.
The memory foam comfort layer isn't very resilient, which is typical of this material, and helps explain its lack of bounciness. Instead, when you compress the mattress, the top layer regains its shape slowly, which helps give it that cozy, hugging feeling memory foam is known for, but also makes it harder to change sleeping positions. The transition and support layers are much more resilient, and while they don't make the mattress much bouncier, they do make it a bit more resilient and easier to move around on.
