Logitech MX Vertical
Keychron M5
The Logitech MX Vertical and the Keychron M5 are wireless vertical mice. The Keychron is designed for both gaming and productivity, while the Logitech is designed for productivity more distinctly. As a result, the Keychron has significantly better raw performance that's on par with top-of-the-line gaming mice, while Logitech is just suitable for casual gaming. Shape-wise, the Logitech is significantly bigger and bulkier feeling, making it only suitable for larger hand sizes, while the Keychron is much more accommodating.

Hey heroninja112,
I agree it’s interesting that the Keychron M5 doesn’t get quite as much attention, despite being a pretty clear upgrade over models like the Logitech MX Vertical in several ways.
As is often the case for mice, though, even small differences can end up being dealbreakers for some people. For my part, I really like the M5 on paper, but I have pretty large hands, so its pinky rest actually gets in the way of me finding a comfortable grip.
From the feedback we get, especially from people choosing between the two exclusively for work, some care less about the improved sensor performance and more about build quality. A bit of creaking in the plastic panels and cheaper-feeling plastic finish overall can be a sticking point, though how much those things matter will vary from person to person.
It’s also interesting that you mention the sensor angle. We recently tested Keychron’s BM27, and people in the office were pretty evenly split: some found it difficult to make horizontal swipes, while others didn’t experience any issues at all.
Using Raw Accel to tweak the angle is a great fix, though. Good tip. I also find myself doing the same for some of my mice, as I often prefer holding them at a slight angle anyway.
Thanks for reaching out.
I think the Keychron M5 should be more well known considering it is absolutely better then the mx vertical in every concievable way. I couldn’t believe it when I discovered the M5 after years of using the vertical, the sensor is so much better, and there is an actual pinky rest, the mouse left/right click buttons are actually slightly curved to match your hand unlike the MX vertical.
And the thumb scroll wheel is a nice cherry on top, so much nicer then using the main scroll wheel where you have to repeatedly extend your index finger.
One thing to note however, the sensor angle at least in my opinion, is very strange. Because moving the mouse right physically, will move the cursor to the right and down, so the trajectory of the cursor is slightly off relative to the trajectory of the mouse itself. However I fixed this by using rawAccel and changing the sensor angle to -10 degrees. So sensor angle is probably just user preference.
