The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse that modernizes Logitech's classic G305 design for current competitive gaming standards. It shares the same egg-shaped, symmetrical design as its predecessor, the Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED. This version is significantly lighter, uses a new sensor package, and has an internal rechargeable battery instead of running on replaceable AA batteries. You can adjust sensor settings and other preferences for this mouse using Logitech's downloadable software suite.
Our Verdict
Although designed specifically with competitive gaming in mind, the Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is good for work use. It has excellent build quality and connects wirelessly with its included USB receiver or via Bluetooth. However, it doesn't support multi-device Bluetooth pairing for easy device switching, like many productivity-focused mice do. It also lacks productivity-focused features such as gesture controls, a free-scrolling mode, or scroll wheel tilt inputs.
Connects wirelessly via 2.4GHz receiver or Bluetooth.
Lacks productivity-specific features such as free-scrolling and scroll tilt inputs.
The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is outstanding for FPS gaming. Its click latency is remarkably low, and its sensor performance is responsive and consistent enough for casual or competitive play. It also has excellent build quality without any obvious weaknesses, and it's light enough to move quickly and accurately. That said, while it's significantly lighter than some mice, including its predecessor, it isn't especially light compared to many recent FPS-focused models from Logitech's competitors.
Exceptionally low click latency.
Superb sensor latency.
Lightweight.
Somewhat heavier than many competing lightweight FPS mice.
The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is great for MMO and MOBA games, though its main weakness is that it has fewer side buttons than most dedicated MMO mice. Provided this isn't an issue for you, it has excellent build quality and raw performance that's more than suitable for PvE or high-level PvP play.
Exceptionally low click latency.
Fewer side buttons than dedicated MMO gaming mice.
The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT has outstanding raw performance and is suitable for competitive play in any genre. Its click latency is remarkably low, and its sensor latency is superb. One small limitation is that it doesn't include Logitech's PRO LIGHTSPEED receiver in the box, though it is compatible with it. This receiver raises the maximum polling rate to 8000Hz, but the practical impact is minimal and too small to notice in-game. Still, the mouse's default 1000Hz polling rate does place a slight ceiling on its sensor latency performance, particularly in terms of latency consistency, compared with Logitech models that support 8000Hz out of the box.
Exceptionally low click latency.
Superb sensor latency.
Doesn't include an 8000Hz dongle, though it is compatible with one.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants
The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is available in Black and White colorway options. We bought a Black unit, and you can see a photo of our unit's label here.
In some regions, this mouse is sold as the Logitech G304 X SUPERLIGHT. Logitech has identical published specifications for the G305 X and G304 X versions, and uses a combined user manual for both. We expect both models to be identical and to perform the same.
There is a separate product called the Logitech G304 X LIGHTSPEED, which appears to be a China-specific regional model. You can reference its product page here. While it shares the same shape, it uses a different HERO 25K-class sensor, doesn't support Bluetooth connectivity, has a lower battery life estimate, and is available in different colorway options. We expect it likely doesn't perform as well as the Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT, and it may have other physical differences we're unaware of. This review doesn't apply to that separate product.
Popular Mouse Comparisons
The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is a modernized version of Logitech's classic egg-shaped design, making it much better suited for competitive gaming than its predecessor. It's a significant performance upgrade over the previous-generation Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED, and it outperforms other similar egg-shaped options like the Fantech Aria XD7 and Razer Orochi V2. That said, it uses Logitech's HERO 44K sensor rather than the flagship HERO 2 sensor package found in higher-end SUPERLIGHT models like the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2. It also doesn't include Logitech's 8kHz-capable PRO LIGHTSPEED receiver in the box. Neither limitation is likely to matter much in actual gameplay for most people, but both are still notable concessions for a mouse positioned toward high-level competitive play.
Its weight is also somewhat high by current FPS-focused standards, as many newer models now weigh under 50 g. It also uses mechanical switches rather than the optical switches found in some of Logitech's more expensive recent gaming mice. These switches feel tactile and satisfying, but mechanical switches can carry a higher long-term risk of developing double-clicking issues as they age.
Overall, this mouse is a compelling option if you like its shape, especially as a mid-range alternative to Logitech's more expensive SUPERLIGHT models. Its closest competitors are similarly priced lightweight gaming mice from emerging brands, such as the MCHOSE L7 Ultra and the Scyrox V8. Those models are significantly lighter and offer better raw performance for the price, but they come from newer companies without Logitech's longer track record for customer support and warranty coverage.

The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT and Logitech G309 LIGHTSPEED are wireless gaming mice with broadly similar egg-like shapes. The biggest shape difference is that the G305 X SUPERLIGHT has concave lower-half sides, making it much easier to pick up and reposition, while the G309 LIGHTSPEED has comparatively straighter sides. The G305 X SUPERLIGHT is also much lighter, has better build quality, and performs better, making it the more viable option for competitive gaming overall. Additionally, the G309 LIGHTSPEED uses an AA battery, while the G305 X SUPERLIGHT has an internal rechargeable battery.
The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2c and Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT are both lightweight wireless gaming mice. They're similar in size, but their shapes differ. The SUPERLIGHT 2c has a somewhat safer shape that's broadly suitable for a slightly wider range of hand sizes and grip types. It's also a bit lighter and includes an 8kHz-capable receiver, giving it a slight edge in terms of raw performance. Comparatively, the G305 X SUPERLIGHT has an egg-like shape that's best suited for claw or fingertip grip. It has a broader back end and a concave lower half, making it much easier to pick up and reposition. It doesn't include an 8kHz-capable receiver in the box, but it's compatible with one if you buy it separately.
The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT is a newer version of the Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED. It shares exactly the same shape, but it's lighter and has significantly better raw performance, making it more viable for competitive gaming. It also uses a rechargeable internal battery, while the older G305 LIGHTSPEED uses AA batteries.
The Razer Orochi V2 and the Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT are wireless gaming mice with roughly similar egg-shaped designs. The Logitech is considerably lighter, has better build quality, and offers better raw performance, making it the better option for competitive gaming. Its shape also differs in one key respect: it has much more concave sides, making it easier to pick up and reposition. The Razer, on the other hand, has comparatively straight sides. It's also noteworthy for its customizable top shells, which you can design yourself using Razer's online configurator. It uses AA or AAA batteries, while the Logitech has an internal rechargeable battery.
