Samsung S95D OLED
Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED
The Samsung S95D OLED is brighter in HDR highlights and has a wider color gamut than the Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED, and its QD-OLED panel keeps colors vibrant at wider angles with no tint shift. Samsung also gives you four HDMI 2.1 ports that accept 4k @ 144Hz, HDR10+ gaming, and sub-10 ms input lag. The BRAVIA 8 fires back with Dolby Vision, cleaner upscaling, and Sony's motion processing that smooths low-frame-rate films without adding shimmer, but its WOLED panel is dimmer and tops out at 120Hz on its two HDMI 2.1 ports. Unless Dolby Vision and Sony's video processing are must-haves, the brighter, faster-gaming Samsung is the stronger all-round pick.
