The Lenovo IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 14 (2026) is a mid-range Windows convertible laptop. It has a 360-degree hinge, touchscreen, and pen support, so you can use it as a laptop or tablet. It's available with an AMD Ryzen AI 5 430 or Ryzen AI 7 445 processor, up to 32GB of replaceable RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. You can choose between a 60Hz 1920 x 1200 IPS or OLED display. It also has a 1080p webcam, Wi-Fi 7, and a wide port selection.

Our Verdict
The Lenovo IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 14 is good for general productivity. It's very portable and has enough battery life to last through a normal workday or school day. It also has a great keyboard, a bright touchscreen, a good 1080p webcam, and plenty of ports. The Ryzen AI 5 430 runs everyday tasks like web browsing, word processing, and spreadsheets smoothly, but it slows down in heavier work that uses all four CPU cores. It only has decent build quality and uses plastic in parts of the chassis, and has a plasticky touchpad that's fairly small. The IPS display has poor color gamut coverage and displays colors inaccurately. You can replace the RAM and storage, making this a good long-term choice if you value upgrades.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 14 is good for media consumption. You can fold it into tent mode or use it as a tablet, and its battery lasts over nine hours during video playback. The display gets bright and handles reflections well, while the speakers get loud and sound clear. However, the IPS display has dull, inaccurate colors, and blacks look gray in a dark room. The upgraded OLED display will look much better.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 14 is bad for gaming. Its Radeon 840M integrated graphics have no problem running simple or older games, but demanding titles are unplayable even at low settings. The 60Hz display also has a slow response time and lacks variable refresh rate, so fast motion looks blurry, and games can show screen tearing. On the upside, performance remains stable during long gaming sessions, and the keyboard doesn't get too hot.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 14 is only okay for workstation use. The Ryzen AI 5 430 can handle light coding, photo editing, and other simple creative work, and it doesn't slow down under long loads. You can also install up to 32GB of RAM and add a second SSD. However, its four-core CPU is slow for heavy video rendering and code compiling tasks, while the Radeon 840M is unsuitable for demanding 3D work. The Ryzen AI 7 445 will be faster in CPU-heavy tasks, but it uses the same weak graphics. Get the OLED display if you need accurate colors.
