Our Verdict
Acer Nitro V 16 (2024)
MSI Katana 15 HX (2025)
The MSI Katana 15 HX (2025) has a higher performance ceiling than the Acer Nitro V 16 (2024), but the Acer is more comfortable to use. The MSI's Intel HX processors and RTX 50-series GPUs, up to an RTX 5070, outclass the Acer's Ryzen processors and GPUs, which top out at an RTX 4060. The MSI's QHD display also covers a wider range of colors than any of the Acer's panels. However, every Acer display supports G-SYNC to prevent screen tearing, and its 16:10 aspect ratio gives you more vertical space. The Acer's battery also lasts about twice as long with light use, its speakers sound much better, and its touchpad is larger.
