Our Verdict
HP OmniBook Ultra 14 (2026)
Microsoft Surface Laptop 8th Edition (2026)
The HP OmniBook Ultra 14 (2026) and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 8th Edition (2026) are premium Windows ultraportables. The HP offers OLED contrast for movies and more performance headroom for demanding multitasking, while the Surface has a sturdier chassis, a taller display for documents, and more varied ports. Both suit everyday productivity, but the HP also offers Intel versions if you need broader software compatibility. Our tested Snapdragon HP lasted longer on battery than the 13.8-inch Surface, though runtime varies by configuration. Choose the Surface if you want a larger 15-inch option; choose the HP if you prioritize OLED or heavier CPU workloads.
