The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition (2024) and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th Edition 15 (2024) are both premium 15-inch ultraportables. The main difference between these two devices is the chip; the Yoga Slim 7i uses an x86 Intel Lunar Lake SoC, while the Surface Laptop uses an ARM-based Qualcomm SoC. The Surface's Qualcomm SoC is technically faster in multi-threaded workloads; however, many programs don't run natively on an ARM chip, so you must ensure that the apps you use are compatible. If you aren't sure, then the Yoga Slim 7i is a safer choice. In terms of the overall user experience, the Surface comes out slightly ahead, as it has a sturdier build, a brighter display, a more tactile haptic touchpad, and a higher-quality webcam.
