Sony X93L/X93CL
Sony BRAVIA 7
Sony has made some really strange design choices in 2024, so the Sony BRAVIA 7 is better than the Sony X93L/X93CL in some ways, but it's a bit worse in other ways. The BRAVIA 7 has a better Mini LED backlight, with less blooming around bright lights in dark scenes and better contrast. The B7 also gets significantly brighter, so bright scenes are brighter overall, and specular highlights stand out better. On the other hand, the B7 doesn't have Sony's 'X-Wide' viewing angle filter and a much worse anti-reflective coating, so go with the X93L if you're in a bright room or have a wide seating arrangement.

With the price of the X93CL at $1,599 vs the Bravia 7 at $1,999 it seems the X93CL is a much better option. Is there any other tv at the $1,600 price that would be a better bet for mixed-use, brighter room, and video game usage?
The main things bringing down the Bravia 7 scores are its narrower viewing angle and worse reflection handling. You can see the breakdown and weighting of our scores by clicking on the question mark next to the usage box score in the main reviews. The X93L has a faster response time, so there is less blur behind fast motion on it.
The Bravia 7 is an odd TV. It’s better than the X93L in some ways like brightness and contrast, but it’s worse in others. It definitely makes it harder to decide between the two! Thanks and I hope that helps!
Thanks for the comparison. In the verdict it appears ratings are less for the Bravia 7 due to the poor viewing angle? It appears the 93 is a superior tv in almost all aspects and the better choice. Curious is the lower ratings due to the poor viewing angle? I will use this in a bedroom and wide viewing is not a factor. Main factor to me is motion blur. I am surprised the Bravia 7 is not superior than the X93 in this regard? Thanks for any feedback and keep up the good work keeping us informed.
