The Status Pro X are premium true wireless earbuds that emphasize sound quality with a triple-driver design and support for high-quality Bluetooth codecs like LDAC. They also offer hybrid active noise cancelling (ANC), multipoint connectivity, and companion app support for EQ adjustments. With an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance and a stemmed design that incorporates physical buttons, they're positioned as a flagship option for listeners who prioritize audio performance but still want practical everyday features to match their strong audio performance.
Our Verdict
The Status Pro X are good for sports and fitness. Although they're small and highly portable earbuds, their somewhat bulky design means they're not the most stable in the ear, and they'll come loose with moderate exercise. They're also only satisfactorily comfortable. They're good for walks or more general exercise, but if you're more of a runner, you're better off looking elsewhere.
ANC does an impressive job blocking out mid-range sounds like chit-chat.
Excellent, well-built case.
Bulky, somewhat unstable design.
The Status Pro X are good for travel. Their impressive noise isolation does a good job blocking out sounds like chatty passengers and doors slamming, although it can't isolate you from the lowest rumbles of a train engine. Although they're not the most comfortable earbuds, they're decent enough to wear for longer periods and small enough to toss in a pocket. That said, their six-hour battery life won't get you through a full transatlantic flight. But if you just need a pair of buds for the daily commute, these are a good choice.
ANC does an impressive job blocking out mid-range sounds like chit-chat.
Mic is okay and better than our results suggest.
Excellent, well-built case.
Bulky, somewhat unstable design.
Could be more comfortable.
The Status Pro X are a decent choice for office work. They'd score higher for this usage if our test rig were able to accurately capture their mic performance, which is better than our results suggest. Overall, we think their combination of impressive noise isolation and a usable mic means they'll serve you well enough when working or taking calls at the office. That said, their six-hour battery life won't get you through a full workday on a single charge, and their bulky design means they can feel a little uncomfortable after a couple of hours.

The Status Pro X are Bluetooth headphones and don't come with a wireless dongle, so they're not a great choice for low-latency wireless gaming. That said, when connected via LC3 in their gaming, these earbuds have a latency as low as 48 ms, so you might find they work well with some mobile games.
The Status Pro X are wireless-only headphones; you can't use them wired.
The Status Pro X have decent audio reproduction accuracy. The default sound profile is warm, with a healthy dose of bass that keeps kick drums feeling immersive. The earbuds don't deviate much from this warm profile through the bass and mid-range, but the treble is a little inconsistent, so sounds like cymbals are rendered a touch dull or piercing depending on their pitch. Still, the left and right drivers are impressively well-matched, so objects are correctly located in the stereo field. Distortion is also low, so you can expect clean and pure audio from these earbuds.
The Status Pro X have impressive noise isolation. They can't block out much low-bass noise like engine rumble, but they do a handy job reducing everyday sounds like commuters talking or background traffic noise. These earbuds also leak very little noise, so you can listen at loud levels without disturbing anyone around you.
The Status Pro X have a better performing mic than this score suggests. In general, the mic is usable, but our test rig isn't able to accurately demonstrate that, so if you want to get an idea of how the mic sounds, listen to the recordings we've posted in the mic section of this review. Subjectively, your voice sounds comprehensible, if not especially life-like. The mic also has alright noise handling. The system can't fully block out the sound of noise around you, but it's able to reduce them enough that you're understandable, although very loud noises like trains rushing by make that harder.
The Status Pro X have excellent frequency response consistency. As long as you take the time to seat them in your ears correctly, you can expect consistent sound with every wear.

Popular Headphones Comparisons
The Status Pro X compete in the premium true wireless tier against models like the Technics EAH-AZ100, Apple AirPods Pro 3, and Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen). Unfortunately, although priced similarly to their competition, the Status are a clear step down from all of them. Most notably, the Status lags behind the others in ANC performance. But they're also less stable and comfortable than the other three, and their Bluetooth multipoint isn't as easy to use. Still, the Status are on par with the Bose in terms of battery life, but that's nothing to shout about since the Apple reach nine hours and the Technics clear a whopping 12. So if you're shopping at the premium end of the earbud market, you can do better with those other brands. Still, if you're a die-hard Status fan and love their chunky, square design, these are better than more affordable buds from the brand, like the Status Between 3ANC True Wireless. But the Pro X cost a fair bit more, and we'd think twice before shelling out that much on buds that don't clear their rivals in any performance metric.

The Status Pro X are better than the Status Between 3ANC True Wireless, but they're also much more expensive. The Pro X's ANC is a clear step ahead, and their mic does a better job separating your voice from any noise around you. That said, the cheaper Between 3ANC have a longer battery life. Since the buds have fairly similar designs, with chunky, block-like bodies that feel about as comfortable as one another, the choice likely comes down to price.
The Technics EAH-AZ100 are better earbuds than the Status Pro X. The Technics offer noticeably better ANC, far superior battery life, three-way Bluetooth multipoint, and a more controlled, even sound profile. That said, the Status buds do come in a nicer case, and the two pairs have comparable mics. But, otherwise, the Technics are the clear choice.
The Apple AirPods Pro 3 are better earbuds for most people than the Status Pro X. In raw performance terms, the Apple are clearly superior, with class-leading ANC, a more stable in-ear design, and, so long as you're connected to an Apple device, a mic that sounds better. That said, Android users don't have access to many of Apple's special features, and there's no companion app for Android devices. So if you're an Android user who enjoys making adjustments in a dedicated companion app, the Status may be the better buy.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) are better flagship earbuds than the Status Pro X. The Bose have better ANC, are more comfortable, and are also better suited for workouts, since they come with stabilizing wing tips. Still, neither of these earbuds have particularly great battery life, both clocking in around six hours. But unless you're in love with the look of the Status buds, the Bose are the clear winners.
