The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is an outstanding printer for student use. This compact printer uses a supertank system that yields a high amount of black as well as color pages before needing to be refilled and its low cost-per-print ratio makes this printer affordable for long-term use. On the downside, the photo printing quality isn't anything to write home about, and this printer takes its time to print all documents. It also lacks a sheetfed scanner and duplex scanning, which can create more work for you if you have to keep pausing to flip each page over to scan the other side.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is good as a family printer. While it has a mediocre photo printing quality, its cost-per-print ratio for both black and colored ink is outstanding, making it an affordable option for most households. It also has a flatbed scanner that's well-suited for saving fragile items like film photographs or old family documents, and you can even print photos directly from your camera's SD card by using its external storage slot.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is unremarkable for home office use. Its black ink tank yields a lot of pages before it needs to be refilled, which is great when you have a lot of forms to process, and its cost-per-print is outstandingly low, making it an affordable choice for long-term use. On the downside, black-text pages print off slowly, and it lacks both a sheetfed scanner and automatic document feeder to help you streamline your workflow. While it has a flatbed scanner, it can't do duplex scanning, so if you need to scan a double-sided document, you need to scan both sides manually.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is outstanding for student use. Both black and color ink have an outstandingly low cost-per-print ratio and their supertank produces a lot of pages before you have to refill it again. However, it's a bit slow printing off black-text documents, which can be stressful if you're rushing to hand in your final essay. This compact printer should be able to fit on a desk in a dorm room, though, and it also has a flatbed scanner if you want to scan the occasional document. You can also connect to it using Wi-Fi via your router, or by using Apple AirPlay or Mopria Printing Services on your mobile devices.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is good for black and white printing. It has an outstandingly low cost-per-print ratio for black ink and its tank yields a lot of pages before it needs to be refilled again. On the downside, while the first black-text page prints fairly quickly, subsequent pages are slower.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is passable for printing photos. The photo printing quality is just okay and the color accuracy is poor, so it's not suggested for printing photos or documents if you work in a job that needs the best quality. However, if you choose to print photos, the printer has a high color page yield, so the cost-per-print is low.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 has an ordinary design. The ink levels are visible, which is nice, and the power cable is replaceable should it get damaged. While there's only one input tray located at the printer's rear, paper is easy to load. On the downside, the scanner lid can't raise to accommodate larger items like books or magazines. If you want to access the ink supertanks, you need to lift the scanner lid as well as its flatbed glass section to reach it, which can be a pain.
The ET-2760 is a fairly compact all-in-one printer. Although the manufacturer specs list its height as 9.4" when in storage mode, our measurement is a few inches shorter and it should still be small enough for most home offices. While the supertank slightly sticks out on one side, it still has a fairly small footprint.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 has a mediocre display screen. Although it's quite small, the control panel can tilt vertically and provide good visibility whether you're seated or standing. However, the screen can be a bit harder to see if you're viewing it from the side. There are also several push buttons surrounding the screen but it can take a lot of clicks to reach the command you're looking for. If you want a similar printer with a better screen, check out the Epson EcoTank ET-4760.
The ET-2760 has an outstanding supertank system. This printer uses four high-capacity ink tanks that you refill yourself. Both the black and colored tanks yield a very high amount of pages before they need to be refilled again, which makes the supertank very cost-effective, especially if you're always printing a lot of pages.
While it's technically possible to fill the supertank with any third-party ink, we didn't try it and don't recommend doing so as low-quality ink could damage the print heads and, unlike regular cartridges, can't be removed if there's a problem.
The Epson ET-2760's scanner features are mediocre. It only has a flatbed scanner so if you're scanning double-sided documents, you need to manually process each side, which can be a pain if you have to do this for a lot of pages. There's also no fax feature, which may be disappointing for home office use. If you're looking for a similar printer that has an automatic document feeder, check out the Epson EcoTank ET-3760.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760's cost-per-print is outstandingly low. Black, color, and photo printing are all extremely cost-effective, especially in the long run.
The ET-2760's printing speed is acceptable. While it's faster than the HP Smart Tank Plus 551 and the first page of a black-text document doesn't take too long to print, the following pages aren't much quicker. Color documents are even slower to print and printing one 4" x 6" photo can take slightly over a minute and a half to finish.
The Epson ET-2760 has poor color accuracy. While it should be okay for the occasional pop of color on an assignment or work report, this printer won't be suitable for those who need more accurate color.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760's photo print quality is just okay. Colors have a flat tone and yellow especially lacks vibrancy. There's also some banding on the grayscale.
These results are based on the actual physical photo, not the scanned image provided for reference above, which may not be representative of the printer's photo print quality.
The ET-2760 has an input feed at the rear of the printer, and it has an extender as well as a slider to support most popular paper formats.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 has great connectivity features. You can hook it up to your Wi-Fi via a router or you can use its own network through Wi-Fi Direct. While it doesn't offer Bluetooth support, you can still print or scan from your mobile device by using Apple AirPrint or Mopria Print Service. Unlike the Epson EcoTank ET-2720, there's also an SD card slot on the front of the printer's bottom left corner.
The Epson iPrint app is outstanding and is available on iOS and Android. You can print, scan, and copy photos as well as PDF files directly from the app. You can even print off webpages too, which is handy for creating a hard copy of things like flight itineraries or map directions. You can also perform maintenance such as firmware updates or nozzle checks on the ET-2760.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is a simple printer that would be an outstanding choice if you just need it to print papers for school. It has one of the highest black page yields we've seen so far, even higher than the Epson EcoTank ET-3760, but it's limited on extra features, and it doesn't have a sheetfed scanner like on the Epson EcoTank ET-4760. Also see our recommendations for the best printers with cheap ink, the best Epson printers, and the best all-in-one printers.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2720 and the Epson EcoTank ET-2760 are very similar printers and they even have almost the same features, but the ET-2760 is slightly better performing overall. The ET-2760 is a bit better built, it can do duplex printing, and it has external storage support. However, the ET-2720 has slightly better color accuracy and photo printing quality.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 and the Epson Expression ET-2750 are two very similar printers. They use the same supertank ink system, although the ET-2760 has a slightly higher page yield. The ET-2750 does a better job at printing photos in detail, but the ET-2760 has better color accuracy.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is better overall for most uses than the HP Smart Tank Plus 551. They both use supertank ink systems, and the Epson has a higher black and white page yield, while the HP prints more pages in color. The Epson prints faster, has more connectivity options, and you can print different types of files from its companion app. However, the HP has much better color accuracy and photos look a bit better from this printer.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is a better printer for most uses than the Epson EcoTank ET-2760. The HP is better built, has a fax machine, it scans double-sided, the color accuracy is better, and it prints photos in more detail. However, the Epson has a much higher page yield with its supertank ink system and the replacements cost a lot less.
