The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is a Medium-Plush all-foam mattress. Its upper comfort layer is made of a gel bead-infused foam that acts like a cross between polyfoam and memory, while its lower comfort layer is made of standard memory foam. Like most foam mattresses, it has polyfoam bottom layers. These foam layers are CertiPUR certified, meaning that they contain lower levels of air pollutants and heavy metals. The fabric in this mattress meets OEKO-TEX Standard 100, meaning it's been tested for a range of harmful substances.

The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is a good option for side sleeping. It's best suited to heavier-weight side sleepers, thanks to its fantastic pressure relief for people in this category. If this describes you, you'll find that you can sleep on your side without feeling discomfort in your arms, shoulders, or hips. Average-weight side sleepers should also find this mattress comfortable, as it provides impressive pressure relief in this weight range, too. It's a passable option for lighter-weight side sleepers, thanks to the comfort layers, which provide enough sinking and contouring to help cushion the joints, but most people in this weight range will need more pressure relief for comfortable side sleeping.
Fantastic pressure relief for heavier-weight sleepers.
Great pressure relief for average-weight sleepers.
Good sinking and contouring, which can help cushion joints.
Disappointing pressure relief for lighter-weight sleepers.

The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is a decent choice for back sleeping, offering enough support for lighter-weight sleepers to keep their spine in a straight line. Average-weight sleepers will find that their hips sink further down, which can cause some discomfort, especially if they sleep on their back for most of the night. This mattress is least supportive for heavier-weight sleepers, who will find that they compress the foam layers too much for proper alignment.
Decent support for lighter-weight sleepers.
Alright support for average-weight sleepers.
Mediocre support for heavier-weight sleepers.

The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is alright for stomach sleeping. It offers decent support for lighter-weight sleepers, who should find that their hips stay mostly lifted, which helps keep the back from arching. Average-weight sleepers will sink a little farther into the mattress, which can cause some discomfort when stomach sleeping for a long period of time. This mattress offers just mediocre support for heavier-weight people, whose hips will sink even lower into the mattress, causing the back to arch painfully in this position.
Decent support for lighter-weight sleepers.
Alright support for average-weight sleepers.
Mediocre support for heavier-weight sleepers.

Longevity
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro delivers mediocre durability. While most of the foam in this mattress is dense enough to meet the standard for good quality, there's also one layer of low-quality memory foam included in the lower comfort layer, which makes the mattress more prone to sagging and forming permanent body impressions.
Contains mostly good-quality foam.
Contains one layer of low-quality foam.
The upper comfort layer is made of a type of gel bead-infused foam that doesn't align with all the properties of either polyfoam or memory foam. It's embedded with phase-change material, which absorbs and releases heat as it changes state. This addition gives the foam a density similar to standard memory foam, but with increased resilience and less of the typical slow-moving feel associated with it. That said, we've labeled this material as memory foam throughout this review.
The lower comfort layer is made of standard memory foam and helps create more of a contouring, hugging feeling. Below that, there are two layers of polyfoam: the transition layer and the support layer. These layers add resilience and make the mattress more responsive. Finally, there's a thick base layer of polyfoam. While it's separate from the support layer, it seems to be identical in type.
Most of the foam in this mattress just reaches the standard for good quality. The gel bead-infused foam in the upper comfort layer is dense enough to be considered good quality. Below that, the lower comfort layer is made of less dense, lower-quality foam. The polyfoam in the transition, support, and base layers is also dense enough to meet the standard for good-quality foam. Consequently, this mattress will resist sagging and permanent indentations longer than mattresses with more layers of low-quality foam, but its overall durability is still just passable.
Pressure Relief
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro offers very good pressure relief, though its performance in this area depends on your weight. For heavier-weight sleepers, it provides exceptional pressure relief, distributing pressure evenly and cushioning the joints, so you can sleep on your side without worrying about shoulder or hip pain. Its pressure relief is also impressive for average-weight people, making it a great choice for side sleepers in that category. Unfortunately, its pressure relief performance drops significantly for lighter-weight sleepers, who will need something softer for side sleeping or even combination sleeping.
Fantastic pressure relief for heavier-weight sleepers.
Great pressure relief for average-weight sleepers.
Good sinking and contouring, which can help cushion joints.
Disappointing pressure relief for lighter-weight sleepers.
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro provides very good body conformity. It's most conforming for heavier-weight sleepers who compress the mattress most. Side sleepers in this category will have plenty of cushioning around their hips, arms, and shoulders, which cushions the joints and helps keep the spine in a straight line. It offers impressive pressure relief for average-weight sleepers, too, making it a great choice for side sleepers in this category. Lighter side sleepers, on the other hand, will probably need a plusher option, though the comfort layers allow for enough sinking and contouring to offset the lack of body conformity for sleepers in this weight range.
Support
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is fairly supportive overall. It offers the most robust support for lighter-weight people who don't compress the mattress as much. If you fall into this category, you should find that your hips stay mostly lifted, and your back stays close to a straight line. Average-weight sleepers will find their hips sink further into the mattress, leading to some additional misalignment. It's least supportive for heavier-weight people, who will find this effect even more pronounced. If you fall into this category, you may need a more supportive mattress to avoid discomfort.
Decent support for lighter-weight sleepers.
Alright support for average-weight sleepers.
Mediocre support for heavier-weight sleepers.
Lighter-weight people experience the most support from this mattress, though even for people in this weight range, support is just decent. Average-weight sleepers will find it reasonably supportive, though if you fall into this category, you may notice your hips sink too far, causing your spine to lose alignment. This effect is even more pronounced for heavier sleepers, who will get just passable support from this model.
Cooling
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro provides excellent cooling. It transfers heat efficiently throughout the entire night, including during the first hour, as you fall asleep. It's cooling enough for almost anyone, including hot sleepers.
Cooling enough for hot sleepers.
Motion Dissipation
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro offers excellent motion dissipation. Although you feel nearby movements, like when your pet hops onto the bed beside you, you don't feel it across the whole mattress, and it fades quickly. This makes it easy to sleep peacefully with a partner, even when one or both tend to toss and turn.
Motion isn't very noticeable.
Responsiveness
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro recovers its shape quickly after you compress it, making it easy to move around or change sleeping positions. It's also fairly bouncy, so while it's not extremely springy, it lacks the sluggish feeling often associated with memory foam.
Regains its shape quickly when compressed.
The gel bead-infused foam in the upper comfort layer is moderately resilient or bouncy. It's not particularly slow-moving, but it's not noticeably springy either, resulting in a fairly balanced feel. Below that, the memory foam lower comfort layer is much less resilient, which increases the mattress's contouring. The polyfoam transition, support, and base layers offer much more 'push back,' making the mattress more responsive and easier to move around on.
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is 13.5 inches (34.2 cm) tall, so you may need to use deep-pocket fitted sheets.
As a Medium-Plush mattress, this model offers more pressure relief than support. It's best suited to average- and heavier-weight side sleepers, but it's also a decent choice for lighter-weight back and stomach sleepers. It's probably not the right fit for light side sleepers or heavier back and stomach sleepers, but it's still a passable choice in either case, making it a versatile option overall.
This mattress delivers disappointing edge support. There's nothing extra built into the sides for stability, so when you sit or sleep near the edge, you sink deeply, creating a ramp that makes it feel like you could slip off.
The manufacturer calls the cover the 'Gradient Cooling Ice Silk Cover' and states that it contains 'micro-pores' which enhance airflow and provide a cooling surface. It's made of 100% polyester, and while it's removable, it's not meant to be machine-washed.
Unlike most bed-in-a-box mattresses, this one is folded in half, then rolled in a vacuum-sealed bag, which caused some deformation on the cover of our unit.
There's no additional component built in to reinforce the sides, which helps explain the mattress's disappointing edge support.
This all-foam mattress is 13.5 inches (34.2 cm) tall. The upper comfort layer is just 1 inch (2.5 cm), so, regardless of your weight, you sink through this layer and into the 2 inches (5 cm) memory foam lower comfort layer below. The transition layer is 3.7 inches (9.5 cm), which is thick enough that you don't notice the shift to the 4.1 inches (10.5 cm) support layer below. Between the support layer and the additional 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) base layer, there's enough foam to ensure that you don't sink entirely through the mattress.
The foam in this mattress gets progressively firmer from the softer comfort layers to the firmer support layer. The upper and lower comfort layers are both very soft. They compress easily, allowing you to sink into the mattress a bit. The transition layer is firmer, with a medium-soft feel that creates a gradual shift to the medium-firm support and base layers that provide stability for the heavier parts of your body.
Popular Mattress Comparisons
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro Memory Foam Mattress is a Medium-Plush model available at an affordable price, and it performs well compared to other inexpensive foam options. Its cooling performance is excellent, edging out the high-performing Silk & Snow Mattress, so it's well-suited to anyone who wakes up overheated. It's also a good option for couples. Like the Casper Cooling Select and the Novaform Legacy, this model offers excellent motion dissipation, which can help you sleep peacefully when your partner tosses and turns. However, while the Novaform and Casper are better suited to back and stomach sleepers, the SweetNight is a better choice for side sleepers who need increased pressure relief to cushion the arm and shoulder in this position. If you tend to sleep on your side, though, it offers an impressive performance at a budget-friendly price.
If you're wondering what we recommend, check out our picks for the best mattresses for side sleepers, the best cooling mattresses, and the best affordable mattresses.
The Novaform Legacy and the SweetNight CoolNest Pro are both good options, but they're each best-suited to different types of sleepers. The Novaform is more supportive, making it a better choice for back and stomach sleepers, while the SweetNight provides more pressure relief, making it a better choice for side sleepers. Both options do an excellent job of dissipating motion, which can help couples sleep more peacefully. The Novaform is more responsive, making it easier to move around on, but the SweetNight is more cooling, so it's a better choice if you often wake up overheated.
The Casper Cooling Select and the SweetNight CoolNest Pro are both good options, but they have different strengths. The Casper is more supportive, making it a better choice for back and stomach sleepers, while the SweetNight provides more pressure relief, making it a better choice for side sleepers. They're pretty evenly matched in terms of motion dissipation and responsiveness, so they're both easy to move around on, and either is a good option if you're looking to sleep peacefully with a partner. However, the Casper is more durable, while the SweetNight offers better cooling.
The Silk & Snow Mattress is a better mattress than the SweetNight CoolNest Pro, though the latter still has some strengths. The Silk & Snow provides better pressure relief and support, making it a good choice for a wider range of body types and sleeping positions. It's also a better choice for couples, since it dissipates motion more effectively, helping you sleep more peacefully. The Silk & Snow is more durable, too, so it'll resist forming permanent indents for longer. The SweetNight, on the other hand, is more responsive, so it's easier to move around on. It's more cooling, too, though either mattress dissipates heat efficiently enough for hot sleepers.
The Leesa Original and the SweetNight CoolNest Pro are pretty evenly matched, but the SweetNight comes out ahead overall. While the Leesa is more supportive, the SweetNight offers better pressure relief, making it slightly more comfortable for side sleeping. The SweetNight does a better job dissipating motion, so it's a better bet if you're looking to sleep peacefully with a partner who tosses and turns, and it's more responsive, so it's easier to move around on. It's also more cooling, making it an excellent option if you tend to wake up overheated.
The SweetNight CoolNest Pro is a bit better than the SweetNight CoolNest for most people. It offers better support, cooling, and motion isolation, and it's slightly more durable. However, the basic CoolNest offers better pressure relief for lighter side sleepers.
