The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse and the successor to the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless (2022). It's a fairly incremental update to its predecessor, boasting an updated sensor with a higher, 4000Hz maximum polling rate, and translucent shell styling, but keeping the same shape, weight, and diamond-shaped cutouts in the shell.
Our Verdict
The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is a good mouse for work, despite it being designed primarily for gaming. It has a medium-sized, symmetrical shape that's comfortable for most hand sizes and grip styles. It also boasts excellent build quality and IP54 dust/water resistance that should help promote longevity. It also supports connecting to one device via Bluetooth, but it lacks productivity-oriented features like free scrolling or L/R scroll wheel inputs.

Accommodating symmetrical shape.
Connects wirelessly via 2.4GHz receiver or Bluetooth.
Scroll wheel lacks free scrolling and left/right tilt inputs.
The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is a superb FPS gaming mouse with fantastic click and sensor latency performance that's suitable for both casual and competitive play. It has excellent build quality, with a sturdy plastic body and IP54 dust/water resistance despite having diamond-shaped cutouts that leave the interior exposed. It has a comfortable, symmetrical shape that's best suited for medium-sized hands using a claw or fingertip grip. While it's decently lightweight, it's significantly heavier than many modern FPS mice, even those with solid plastic bodies.

Superb raw performance.
Could be lighter considering weight saving shell cutouts.
The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is great for MMO/MOBA gaming, although it has fewer side buttons than purpose-built MMO mice. It has superb raw performance, excellent build quality, and a comfortable symmetrical shape that's suitable for most hand sizes and grip types.

Popular Mouse Comparisons
The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 is the successor to the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless (2022). The biggest change is the updated SteelSeries TrueMove Optical Sensor that now supports a higher 4000Hz polling rate. It otherwise has the same shape with diamond-shaped cutouts in the shell, but now has a translucent plastic finish that lets the RGB lighting effects shine and refract light through the body.
While this mouse delivers fantastic overall performance that's more than adequate for competitive gaming, it's decidedly behind the times compared to its contemporaries from emerging brands in the same price range, like the ATK Blazing Sky F1 Extreme or the MCHOSE L7 Pro, which both weigh significantly less despite having solid shells without any weight-saving cutouts. That said, the SteelSeries could still be a compelling option if you're looking for a mouse with RGB lighting, which is becoming less common on competitive gaming mice.
