The XGIMI Vibe One is a portable long-throw 1080p LCD projector with an LED light source. It has a 1.3 throw ratio that can project 40- to 150-inch images from about 45 to 170 inches (about 1.2 m to 4.3 m) away from the wall or screen, respectively. It has auto/manual focus and auto keystone, and also features a 160-degree one-axis gimbal to move the image vertically based on your preferred setup, along with a mounting hole for a tripod setup. The projector runs Google TV (with officially licensed Netflix), is Chromecast-compatible, and has an HDMI 2.0 port and a USB-A port. It has a lightweight cylindrical design, dual 3W JBL speakers, a dedicated handle, and an integrated battery, though it can also be used when plugged in via its 65W power bank.

Our Verdict

0.0
Home Theater

The XGIMI Vibe One is unremarkable for home theater setups. It displays fairly deep blacks in dark scenes, but because it's so dim, it fails to differentiate between the brightest and darkest objects in an image. It also can't display a wide range of colors for an impactful viewing experience. Plus, it can't remove judder from any source, so motion looks jittery. There are a few positives, though, as it doesn't have any rainbow effect when you look through the screen. It also has a quiet fan, so you won't get distracted by it when watching movies.

Pros
  • Decent contrast, especially in darker scenes.

  • Fully-featured smart unit, with native Netflix.

  • No rainbow effect.

  • Quiet fan.

Cons
  • Very dim, especially on battery power.

  • Bad color volume.

  • Inaccurate out of the box.

  • Vignetting on the sides and corners of the image.

  • Can't remove judder from any source.

Outdoors

The XGIMI Vibe One is disappointing for outdoor setups. The biggest downside is that it's dim, so you need to use it after sunset without any nearby lights to easily see your movie or show. It's easy to carry outside, though, as it comes with a handle, and its lens cap keeps the projector protected when it's not in use. It includes automatic keystone and focus adjustments, but without optical zoom or lens shift, you won't get a perfectly clean image unless it's sitting directly in front of the screen. It also comes with a battery that lasts enough for an episode or two of your show or a shorter movie, but you'll need to plug it in for movies longer than 100 minutes.

Pros
  • Fully-featured smart unit, with native Netflix.

  • Easy to carry around with handle and battery power.

  • Auto keystone and focus features.

Cons
  • Very dim, especially on battery power.

  • Battery is limited to 100 minutes.

  • Lack of optical zoom and lens shift for clean images.

0.0
Bedroom

The XGIMI Vibe One is decent for bedroom setups. It's easy to bring to the bedroom, as it comes with a handle, a vertical gimbal for adjustments, and a lens cap that protects it when you're not using it. It includes features to help with setup, such as automatic keystone and focus adjustments, but it lacks optical zoom or lens shift to keep the image clean. It also has a built-in smart system and an okay battery life, letting you watch content without needing extra cables cluttering up the bedroom. Plus, it has a quiet fan that makes it easier to watch content without needing to blast the volume.

Pros
  • Fully-featured smart unit, with native Netflix.

  • Quiet fan.

  • Easy to carry around with handle and battery power.

  • Auto keystone and focus features.

Cons
  • Battery is limited to 100 minutes.

  • Lack of optical zoom and lens shift for clean images.

0.0
Gaming

The XGIMI Vibe One is a poor projector for gaming. It's a 1080p LCD projector that tops out at 60Hz, with high input lag, making it better suited to slower, turn-based games than to games that require quick reactions. The projector is dim overall, both when plugged in and on battery power, which, in part, contributes to its decent contrast in most scenes. However, combined with the projector's bad color volume, it doesn't make for a vibrant gaming experience.

Pros
  • Decent contrast, especially in darker scenes.

Cons
  • High input lag, even in Game Picture Mode.

  • Very dim, especially on battery power.

  • Bad color volume.

  • Tops out at 1080p @ 60Hz.

0.0
Brightness

The XGIMI Vibe One projector has poor brightness. It's best suited for completely dark rooms, and for projecting a relatively small image rather than larger, 100-inch-and-above images. There's also noticeable vignetting in the image's sides and corners.

Pros
Cons
  • Very dim, especially on battery power.

  • Vignetting on the sides and corners of the image.

0.0
Contrast

The XGIMI Vibe One projector has decent contrast. However, this is partly due to its dimness, so it performs best in dark rooms.

Pros
  • Decent contrast, especially in darker scenes.

Cons
  • Very dim, especially on battery power.

0.0
Portability

The XGIMI Vibe One has great portability. It comes with a built-in battery that lasts about 100 minutes, and it's easy to carry around thanks to its relatively small size and carrying handle. It has automatic keystone and focus adjustments that help during setup, but you need to have it directly in front of the screen for the best image, as it lacks optical zoom and lens shift.

Pros
  • Easy to carry around with handle and battery power.

  • Auto keystone and focus features.

  • Includes a lens cap.

Cons
  • Battery is limited to 100 minutes.

  • Lack of optical zoom and lens shift for clean images.

0.0
Color

The XGIMI Vibe One has poor colors. It's inaccurate out of the box, and it fails to display a wide range of vivid colors.

Pros
Cons
  • Bad color volume.

  • Inaccurate out of the box.

0.0
Gaming Responsiveness

The XGIMI Vibe One has poor gaming responsiveness. It's limited to a 60Hz refresh rate and doesn't support 4k signals. It also has high input lag, even in its Game Picture Mode, so it's a bad choice for playing most games. Also, as it's an LCD projector, there's noticeable motion blur with fast-moving objects.

Pros
Cons
  • High input lag, even in Game Picture Mode.

  • Tops out at 1080p @ 60Hz.

    Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The XGIMI Vibe One doesn't have any hardware variants; it's sold as a single model, but it's offered in either gray or blue and yellow, which the company calls Cloud Ash and Blue Spark, respectively; we tested the Cloud Ash colorway. However, it's part of XGIMI's line of portable projectors, which includes the MoGo series.

Our unit was manufactured in China in November 2025.

    Popular Projector Comparisons

The XGIMI Vibe One is a cheap LCD projector that prioritizes portability over performance. It has decent contrast but is very dim, has poor color volume, and is very inaccurate out of the box, so it doesn't deliver a vibrant viewing experience. It also has noticeably high input lag and tops out at 1080p @ 60Hz, so it shouldn't be considered an option for reaction-based games. That said, it has an integrated battery, a 160-degree vertical gimbal, auto-keystone and auto-focus, a built-in 2x3W JBL speaker system, and a dedicated handle. It's designed for people primarily looking for a portable, casual option, especially if you want something for a quick movie night in the bedroom. However, if shoppers are seeking a better balance between portability and performance and are willing to stretch their budget a bit, the XGIMI Halo+ is significantly brighter and delivers better color for a more vibrant viewing experience. Otherwise, the NexiGo PJ40 Pro offers better picture quality for a similar price, but is better suited to a more fixed setup.

Check out our recommendations for the best budget and cheap projectors, as well as the best portable projectors. If you'd prefer to shop solely for another product in the same price range, look up the best projectors under $500 instead.

    XGIMI MoGo 4

    Track

The XGIMI MoGo 4 and the XGIMI Vibe One are two portable projectors that trade blows. The MoGo 4 is brighter and has a wider color gamut, while the Vibe One has better contrast. That said, when it comes to gaming, both projectors top out at 1080p @ 60Hz and have high input lag, so they're better suited for slower games that aren't reaction-based.

    NexiGo PJ40 (Gen 3)

    Track

The NexiGo PJ40 (Gen 3) is a better projector than the XGIMI Vibe One. The NexiGo is significantly brighter, has a notably wider color volume, is more accurate following a calibration, and has more HDMI and USB ports. On the other hand, the Vibe One is the much more portable option, and its fan noise is significantly quieter.

    XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro

    Track

The XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro and the XGIMI Vibe One perform similarly. The main differences between the two are that the MoGo 3 Pro is brighter and has better colors, while the Vibe One has significantly better contrast. That said, both projectors top out at 1080p @ 60Hz, while their high input lag are more ideal for games that don't require very fast reaction times.

    How We Test Projectors
    How We Test Projectors

We've independently bought and tested over 80 projectors and published detailed results for each, so you can decide which one to buy. These have all been tested under the same standardized methodology, allowing you to compare them side by side. We still have all these projects in our lab, so we can continually go back and compare them to ensure our reviews are still accurate. All our test methodologies are also public on our website, so you can validate the results yourself.
